The game between these two in the first round of the Sports Authority Holiday Classic last year was a 5-4 OT win for the Spuds.

Who wins?

Last year? I'll take EP 3-2, as they showed how well they can play against Edina yesterday.

Tough game to predict. Both teams are maybe starting to find themselves...

4-2 EP with an empty netter

Does that good play include elbowing players in the head from behind into the boards? EP is the dirtiest team I've seen in a long time and I hope they get routed by Moorhead.

Tater-tots 4-2 with empty netter. EP seriously lacks defense (look no further than the 4 Edina goals). EP goalie played very well in loss to Edina but not enough to prevent a mild upset from the north.

EP is not a dirty team. That play was an isolated incident that is not typical of how that player plays.

I agree. Assuming Hockey Hub data is correct, the player involved had 2 penalty minutes as a junior (for the entire regular season), and 0 as a sophomore (for the entire regular season). IMO, and the data supports it, the hit was totally out of character for the player involved.

Plus for the person who made the comment, did you see the GR / ER game where 2 five minute majors were issued; or the Edina /EP game where an Edina player got a 5 minute major for a vicious hit from behind on an EP player?

Eden Prairie might take their anger from Edina on in this one... EP 5-2

A couple of inconsistent teams flirting with the Top 20 here. Of the two, I like Eden Prairies most recent efforts. Eagles should escape with a narrow win.

EP 4, Moorhead 3

A) If the Spuds team that played Roseau,, Bemidji and Minnetonka shows up - E-P is done.

B) If the team that played Benilde, Centennial and Blaine shows up, they're done.

If team A) shows up and Cullen has Dittmer in net, I'd put my money on them.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Spinner played the first period today but didn't return for second or third. John Sullivan, Warner and Harry Pajor did not play today. Sullivan and Pajor were hurt in Edina game. Not sure about Warner, or when any of the 4 are expected back.

Hopefully soon as EP played their best hockey to date in the Edina classic and looked like they were starting to get it going.
