The Mustangs opened with an away one goal win over a good Marshall team, can they follow that up with a win on the road in St Cloud? After getting shut out by EGF, can Cathedral rebound and play Breck tight?

Cathedral lacks to depth the keep up with good teams at this point, especially with their youth coming up to speed.

Cathedral does have top end talent that is very good, but these guys can't carry the load for the whole squad and, unfortunately, that has been the case for the whole year to this point. The youngsters need to get up to speed and games against these good teams early in the season will give them that opportunity.

Although I'd love to be wrong about this, I've gotta go with Breck in this one.

I watched it online and it appears Breck is a shell of the team they were last season. SCC's top line looked really good. Swingle had a sweet assist, he is fun to watch.

Maybe East Grand Forks is that good this year. Posted its third shutout in four games tonight (3-0-1).

This was a nice rebound for Cathedral after the loss to EGF. They had contributions from all three lines and played a very good game start to finish.

It was tough not having Hall against EGF, not saying it changes the end result, but would have been closer on the scoreboard.

I think EGF is that good, I watched them play twice in the holiday tournament in Grand Forks last year, early they appear to be deeper and more balanced than last year.

East Grand Forks is very solid defensively. They will show this as year goes on.

After seeing East Grand Forks and Breck play the same team back to back, there is no doubt in my mind that East Grand Forks is the better team.

As for the game, Cathedral played exponentially better than they did last Friday which may be a testament to EGF's abilities. Tommy Hall's return after basically missing two full games definitely added a lot of depth to the Cathedral offense. Two goals from the third line was welcomed surprise for me.

The team still struggles on the powerplay, which is surprising with the amount of talent they have on the squad. Their PP goal last night came on a rush from their best player and not necessarily a well run PP. Cathedral still doesn't have the deepest D-core around, but with some early season experience the young ones should come around.

Overall it was a very entertaining game to watch.

I saw the game last night and it could have gone either way. Both teams had about 30 shots on goal. Both goalies played well.

I thought St. Cloud's 2nd and 3rd lines outplayed Brecks.
Swingle, Fritz, Hammer and Pogansky are St. Cloud's best players.

Breck doesn't have much firepower upfront besides first line.
Colford, Linstrom and Wiitala are Breck's best players.

Pogansky was the best player on the ice.
He is a special player. Hopefully, the Gophers sign him soon.

I would say EGF is definitely that good...not sure if GordyBombay was at the game last Friday or if he was if he was accidently watching the wrong game over on the other ice but CHS did not look good against EGF

I wasnt there but from what Ive read and heard EGF was by far the superior team, it happens and im sure these 2 teams will run into eachother down the line again, I would have liked to have seen that game played later in the year though.
