If EGF would step up and play with the men, then I could drop HM out of the top ten.

It was a toss-up with H-M and Grand Forks Red River.

Not going to give a top ten yet but based on what I have seen from last year and this past fall Elite League is EP will be strong as will Benilde and Tonka. I am very interested to see how Edina does (depending on who is on the roster for their first game)

Section 6

Section 6 and 7 will be the cream of the crop again this season. There are 8 possible teams that could make state and all are legit top 10 to 15 teams:

Section 6 - 4 v 5 QF will be a battle of a large Lake Conf. public school vs. the upstart private school

BSM
Ep
Tonka
plus Wayzata and HF

Section 7 - the 4 v 5 QF game will be another good one!

Andover
Cloquet
East
ER
GR

What no EP? What with the so-called "Superstar" who jumped ship at New Prague to EP even?

HM would have had the entire first line back (Guentzel-Lavalle-Brown) but as we know, Guentzel left (along with D Heinrich). However, SSM transfer Mitch Slattery will fit nicely on that line and I would put that line up against anybody's 1st with the exception of maybe BSM & Edina's top line. Jr's Slattery & Brown were both among top 20 scorers in the Elite League and Lavalle (25 G last HS season) would have been up there as well had he not missed 7 games with Football conflict & injuries. (JR - F) Funk (Elite League - Team WI) also made one of the two the Elite League All Star teams for this weekend's Bauer NIT showcase with teams from the US, Norway & Germany coming to town. So Hill should also have a nice young second line in Funk, Zack Mills (Soph who was among leaders in pts on his Elite Dev. League team), & French. Add to that, 4 returning D and a great Goalie in Dugas. Could be as good as last year by the time Lechner moulds this group into form.... I have them rated around the 7-8 spot in my rankings.

Great stuff! Look for Eliott to move Hill up to #8 now in his official rankings.

Who? :-s

Although I do think FL should be ranked higher than Grand Rapids after pounding them in the quarterfinals.
