Has anyone heard any specifics on Team Combat for the 2013 season?

True, the teams are full.

You may get a chance to play them in Chicago , Toronto , Winnipeg , and Detroit if your team make the championship game, or pool play...

Irish it is too bad they have not returned on a promised.

They are using Forest Lake as North Campus. We [FLAAA] are very excited to have this program @ our rink!!!!!!!

Wasn't this your post from July? Kinda sounds like you were making fun of the program and now you are complaining because your son didn't get a spot? Make up your mind. Oops I forgot that's not one of your strong suits is it?

My son did the summer camp in Cottage Grove and it was a very well run camp. 2 hours of ice time and 1 hour dryland, 3 days a week. There are not many summer camps in the east metro and I was very impressed with this one.

I forgot to include the quotation marks in my post. The two lower paragraphs in my post were from Irish back in July. I know what the program costs as my son will be skating with the team.

Hey Rusty. I'm leaning towards starting my own soap opera and calling it Days of our hockey lives
I often wonder why a certain person associated with this program is making things harder than they need to be? It's kind of ironic that he's offering communication tudors as part of the program.
I'm guessing your son will be part of this new and exciting program. I'm expecting big things from this team.

NHL Advisor?

Professional trainer? (forgot it's not a development team)
Playing all over North America? (money well spent - if you want to lose just join local tournaments and save money)

And actually Irish you already know the answer as to why. I'm curious as to your motivation to continue with the posts of this nature. I'm also curious as to why you can't grasp why you haven't heard back from the program. I suspect that even if your kid was the #1 rated D-Man in Minnesota you wouldn't be getting a call. Maybe it's time to put your shift measuring stopwatch away, stop the negative comments, find a program that fits your kid and stay there. Enjoy the ride Irish it is going to be over before you know it.

Team Combat is the talk @ the rink in Flake Town. Sounds like most are going to be skating here instead of other programs.

Hi Rusty. What motivates me? Since you asked.

My son was asked to play for Team Combat. I'm completely fine with his decision not to have my son be on the team. No worries! All is fine. Life will go on.
What I cannot understand is why can't he return an email, phone call, or text message? I feel he owes me that. I also feel it shows his true character. Many other will agree and do agree.
As for finding a program that best fits us? Are you kidding me? Let me ask. How many teams has your son played for the past two years?

Why do you need a call back? Just for an explanation. Really . Do you need this, or is it your son who wants one.

Maybe they wanted your son to play for them, but didn't want the baggage.

Dads can be a pain in the a@& when kids get older. They think they are the coach and not the dad.

Who is Mr Combat by the way ? Who is it that owes you this call ?

Quedtion. Where is combat going to pick up enough elite players to play in those upper echelon tourneys? Seems there a lot of elite players locked up in othrr programs and not much else to form a suprr duper elite. I know flake has some players but that many?

Give me an hour or so, the list is a long one.

You don't find team combat, they find you. You might think you are a top 5 forward or defenseman. But they might not want you. They are looking for kids that WANT to progress in what they want. No has been, no Baggage dads, and certainly no one who wants or thinks what is best for them. Trainable and coach able kids. look around. 15-17 yr old kids that have been on top teams too often don't move on past the low end high school level. Why you might not know or will not admitted it. It's simply they think they are better. Kids that think they should be the center are the center of the problem... Fact.

Idealistic for a 1 tournament team.

My apologies for taking so long to answer your question. The list of teams he has been on is a long one and took some time to compile. Now I may define "team" differently than you so here is my definition. My definition of team is a AAA organization that one skates with for both multiple practices and several tournaments. The past two years my son has skated for exactly two. One of which was coached by the same coach he had the two previous years and comprised of a core group of skaters that played together for three years.

Now my son has been invited to play in several tournaments for other teams and has done so when our schedule allowed. I do not define that as being on a team.

We have looked upon every team that he has skated on as a positive experience more than negative but even if we hadn't I don't believe it benefits anyone to rip a program on the forum.

Even though we have recently moved out of state, my son wants to stay connected to both Minnesota hockey and his hockey friends. We also have a strong belief that the program will be a good one and allow for our son to stay connected. That is the reason he will be skating for TC, simple as that.

Good luck to your son in tryouts and I hope you guys have a successful winter season. Maybe we'll see you at the rink this summer.
