Only 4 teams at the 03 invite level? Should have saved some $ and just set up some scrimmages.

12 teams at the 03 Open level. Seems like they could have balanced things out a bit more.
With 4 teams and a 5 game guarantee that means you are playing 2 of the team twice. That is lame.
On the other hand, chances are good that you'll bring home some hardware.

In a couple years all teams will be "open". Kids don't care they just like to play. I could see kids skating at local rinks, playing in a couple tournys.

Looks like the euroamerican team and the machine black teams at the 02 level are off to a good start and legacy and machine black at the 03.
Anyone know if the machine black teams loaded up with orange players for this tournament?

Orange brought in three kids. No big deal. Game went into shoot-out and Machine got the job done. They played very well and deserved the win.
Lake Superior Stars brought in 4-5 Icemen players this weekend.
Right or wrong lets hope no players are receiving limited ice time.

Anyone know how the new look Blades team did this weekend? What is their tournament record this year? Don't hear much about the team.

The Machine Orange...aka Machine Black...took the championship for the 02's. Edged Euro American 4-3 and beat Manitoba 4-1 for the hardware. Nice going Orange..(with a few machine black kids hitting the ice now and then)

Looking at the rosters, it looks like the 02 Orange had five kids playing for the Black this weekend, with two of those five being the goalies. Pretty hard to say the Orange kids carried the Black to a championship with only three Orange skaters playing, but to each their own.
Two other 02 Orange were playing at the 01 Invite level for Miracle United.

We all know the kids...we've been playing them for years...we know there were more than 3 skaters...and both goalies..no worries though. They can play whoever they want when they want. a little tip, the roster in the book is not the official/final roster given to the tournament prior to the first game.

This was an invite level tournament right? Just checking.

Ahhh, the joys of summer hockey. No rules, no conscience.
Those cruel masters at MN Hockey requiring certified rosters before the winter season begins--how dare they!
Stop complaining about summer tournaments.

Thanks for the tip on the rosters, especially since one of the two 02 Orange players I mentioned in my earlier post was not listed in the book -- should have said from what I saw Friday and in the book, my bad. You must know the 02s better than me, but as you said, no worries.
