My gut says don't pick against Edina....they've won every tournament except Districts and they are like 21-0 against #1 Wayzata (okay not 21, but you get my point)

I see 5 of the 8 teams are members of the Maroon & Gold League. Thoughts?

Yes, Edina is 21-o against #1 Wayzata, but against, other teams, they have been incredibly inconsistent. I feel Wayzata handily advances to the finals, while beating Eden Prairie and EGF. Wayzata is arguably playing their best hockey of the year. Edina has a must play a very skilled/disciplined WBL squad who is known for the upset. If they advance, they will most likely play a "under the radar" team in Moorhead. Who certainly isnt an easy task. If they do end up meeting Wayzata in the finals, We'll see what happens.

Congrats to all teams that have made it this far.
My prediction would be the winner of Wayzata EP will see the winner of WBL Edina in the final.
I think any team can beat any team at this point in the playoffs, you don't make it to state unless you are a good team, even if certain regions may have been easier to get threw then others.
How would everyone feel if they ranked the top 4 like in the HS tourney. I know there are no TV ratings at this level but would it make for a better tourney or take away from the draw that certain teams get?
Good luck to all the kids and enjoy the ride.

Define "incredibly inconsisiten" - seems a lttle strong. Played some pretty good hockey in a very tough region. You seem to imply that every one of Edina's games is perilous, but Wayzata has an easy road. Great point - "we'll see what happens."

You are correct, my wording tends to get a little strong on here. Im just saying that i find it a little confusing that Edina can beat Wayata 3 times, then lose to Minnetonka and go "O'fer" on the season against Duluth East. Depending on which team shows up next weekend, they could win it all, or possibly not even win cosolation.

Yes, but how do you not consider Wayzata's loss to Centennial and tie with Minnapolis as equally confusing? Bottom line is that they are 14-15 years old and they will have bad games. Edina is clearly not the loaded group they were at peewees, but four tough tournament wins certainly proves their worthiness.

I'm taking Wayzata vs Edina in a fully packed Cottage Grove rink.
Wayzata winning the one that matters 4-2 empty netter
Good Luck to all as it should be a great week.
