cant wait for such a exciting game.

I just wish eagan got the 4 seed. Edina is clearly better than them.

Also think of a friday night schedule of

Edina/Maple Grove

and

BSM/DE

Anyone know off hand how many of the Benilde players played youth hockey for Edina? Should be one of the better first round games since before they seeded the teams.

I'll take Benilde 3-2

If it's anything like the game these two played at state a couple years ago. Then it should be a great game. BSM 4-3

4-2 edina with open net
both teams are very fast so the Game at the X with a normal sized rink will have to be played differently than at there section finals should be a great though and as long as Benjamin got all his jitters out at the Bville game i think Edina moves on to the semi's in a tight one

This is going to be key for the Hornets. BSM has way more firepower on the offensive side compared to Burnsville and they will be throwing everything on net. Edina's D will have to keep as much as they can to the outside and Benjamin will have to really be on for the Hornets to win. If they can get the first goal or two it would go a long way calming the nerves of a very young team.

Benjamin has done a great job all year and I am sure will continue to play great as usual:) wondering who the back G up will be? what is the status of Beaupre's injury?

Hard to decide who I want to win this game.

I'll go with Benilde riding the emotional power of Jabs and their current hot streak.

Benilde 4-1 in convincing fashion.

Not a fan of either school, but if I had to pick a team I have to go with the Hornets.
BSM played great against tonka on the big ice. On the Excel sheet the edge is always going to be Edina.
I agree Edina 4 - 2.

I like the young Edina team but I think BSM makes a charge this year.
Might be the best game of the tournament.
BSM 5
Edina 4

I dont like either of these teams as they made my list of Top 5 teams I love to hate. But taking that out of the equation I think this should be a great game to watch and is a great ending to the first day. There are reasons to pick each of these teams as the winner. BSM did not impress me the first two times I saw them this year, but against Tonka in the section Final I was very impressed. However, I also felt like Tonk didnt show up, didnt play like they cared if they won or loss so that could have played a part in how the game went down. I think the larger ice sheet could have affected the game in BSM advantage for some reason , who knows. Edina has some great young highly skilled players but I think the Senior leadership will prevail...BSM 5 - 3 or 6 - 4 with an empty netter.

The toughest quarterfinal match-up to pick. It's hard to go against Benilde after what they did to Tonka, and they have the star power to get it done. Still, Edina is a very cohesive unit, and I expect Benjamin to do better than he did against Burnsville. Add in the last line change, which Giles will undoubtedly use to his advantage, and I'll go with:

BSM 5-2. Very similar teams but BSM has the extra motivation and older studs vs youger studs.

BSM 4-2 (EN)
Very even comparable teams, but I think BSM's expierence prevails over Edina's youngsters.
