Wayzata Blue is really the undisputed #1 BB1 team in the state, and OMGHA Crimson is probably the undisputed #2 BB1 team. That being said, anything can happen in 1 game. If they do end up the #1 and #2 seed from this region, would they not meet until the final game at State, or would they meet up in the semi-finals? I'm not sure how those pairings work...

When you think about the strength of their BA teams, plus these upper (i.e. stacked/unbalanced) BB1 teams (not to mention 2 additional strong BB1 teams for Wayzata and 1 for OMGHA), there is some amazing depth in these two associations.

Seems to me that if the two A team approach (or having both a AA and A) is ever going to gain momentum, these two associations (along with Edina) would have to be the leaders. I know Wayzata did it this year at the PW level. Will they do it next year at the Bantam level? Think about it, if these associations won't go with two A teams, then why would anyone else ever consider it?

On that AA,A,B1
At the start of the year. Pick which class you think you are. Play your league games and have the District or somebody place them for the playoffs. Because groups will pick wrong. To high or to low. They should rate them by record. Wins(who) , loses(who)
Or use tourney's for playoff placement.
The only problem someone may sand bag it for a trophey.

My kid is a 1st year Bantam in D3, but not on either Wayzata or OMGHA, so I have no insight into what the 1st vs. 2nd year make up is of each team. I would assume that it is biased towards the 2nd year kids, but I'm sure there are some very talented (and big) 1st year skaters, particularly on the B1 teams.

I thought I remembered seeing that there was one 1st year kid who made the OMGHA BA team. No idea for Wayzata.

From a Wayzata source: half the A/B1 kids are first yr players. A has 5 1st years and Blue has 10.

Go Mahtomedi. It's time for a change in the state tourney.

That is very impressive that there are 6 first year players on the Wayzata Bantam A team and 10 on B1 Blue. I can only image that they will be just as strong, or even stronger next season. As I've said before, if this isn't a scenario where two A teams should be fielded, I don't know what is...

OMG Crimson-4
Woodbury Black-3

What a great game played between these two teams. 2-0 (crimson) after 2, woodbury kept getting it within one in the 3rd and crimson would score to go back up 2. Both teams played very well. Tough game for either team to lose.

Wow- Wayzata gold loses 2 one goal games to crimson. A lower b1 team pushes the number 2 team to the limit twice. What a deep talent pool. Wayzata could definitely support two A teams next year.
