Definitely not a game of the night, but North Metro plays last home game ever against Coon Rapids this evening.
Latest word for next year is kids east of river goto Irondale and those west head to Osseo.

Congratulations to the Coach Bill Lechner, Assistants Pat Schafhauser & Tony Ciro, Captains Andy Faust & Charlie Sampair and all of the Pioneers for winning the Classic Suburban Conference Championship. This is the school's 36th Conference Championship in 52 years of Varsity Hockey.

Just a minor tweak, I don't believe Faust is a Captain anymore. Nonetheless, congrats to the Pioneer Program.

Well said former, short and sweet. Or we could go over the wall like some and post:
Congratulations to 2010/2011 AA Head Coach of the year Tim Sager, Assistant Coaches: Ben Butters, Steve Collova, Chris Anderson, Matt Greer, Captains and their Assistants: Mike Abrahamson, Jack & Mitch Morrisette, and RJ Majkozak, the rest of the team, the cheerleaders, fans, and BEARS line for winning the Suburban East Conference. Who knows how many years, but I'm sure its more than any other school can claim.
How's that StPaul.

Park Center High School is quite large and will still be around. They are graduating 17 seniors.....only like 9 returning skaters I was told and the article in the MN Sun paper a few weeks ago stated not enough kids in youth incoming to make numbers. Most players open enroll to Osseo anyways (over a third of Osseo varsity are from North Metro) after youth.
Fridley, Columbia Heights and Brooklyn Center High Schools haven't had hockey for years. The skaters from those areas are supposedly heading to Irondale. Park Center skaters to Osseo to stay in same school district.

It's excellent, BodyShots. I guess I should apologize for my "over the wall" post. I forgot how easilly you get upset about Hill-Murray. Although I think conference championships are a real accomplishment for a high school team. The conference season is 14 games for HM and 16 for WBL. Winning a conference usually must include several victories over your closest rivals. For the record WBL has 4 SEC titles (2004, 2005, 2011, 2012) in 11 years - indeed more than Roseville (2002, 2003, 2007) and Woodbury (2008, 2009, 2010-3 way tie) with 3 each. In the years since HM & WBL parted ways, HM has won 8 out of 11 in the CSC.
