Taylor Williamson scored two goals and Maddie Dahl posted a 17 save shutout to lead the Hornets over the Royals.

13 of this week’s 14 prognosticators had Edina winning and pick up a point – there were no correct scores.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s 9, Chisago Lakes 0
No. 1AA BSM erupted for 9 goals in shutting out No. 10A Chisago Lakes. As of this posting the score sheet for this game was not available.

All 14 had BSM winning and pick up a single point. The closest anyone came on the score was 7-1, and this was predicted by four of our participants.

Andover 4, Blaine 2
After a scoreless first period, Andover’s Abbie Turpin scored what proved to be the winning goal on a power play at 10:51 of the second.

10 of 14 correctly picked Andover to win, but once again there were no correct scores.

Only one other game result has been posted just before midnight and my bedtime:

Warroad 5, Thief River Falls 4 (OT)
Hannah Johnston’s goal with 2:09 left in overtime gave Warroad the win over Thief River Falls. It was Johnston’s second goal of the game to go with her one assist. For the game, the Warriors outshot the Prowlers 33-14.

13 of 14 picked up a point in this one, and once again no bonus points were awarded.

9 of 14 prognosticators have all four of tonight's known winners and have four points apiece. A more detailed leaderboard will be posted once we know the results of the other two games.

Here are the results of our final two games of Day 1, courtesy of the Star Tribune's paper edition:

Hutchinson 6, Mound-Westonka 3
Hutchinson scored the first four goals of the game and went on to beat Mound-Westonka 6-3. Sara Carlson scored two goals and added two assists for the Tigers.

Our first big upset of the week. Everybody had Mound-Westonka winning and got blanked on the score sheet. Congrats to Hutchinson on a very nice win!

Anoka 5, Champlin Park 2
Katie Johnson’s hat trick led the Tornados over the Rebels. Johnson also assisted on Anoka’s first goal of the game scored by Emilie Brigham, who also had two assists. This game was tied at 2-2 until midway in the 3rd period when the Tornadoes rallied to score three of their five goals.

Finally, someone gets a correct score! minnhockey3535 correctly forecasted Anoka’s 5-2 win and pulls ahead of the field - albeit by just one.

Brenna Bakken scored the first two goals of the game, both unassisted, and Lauren Kolak added an empty netter. The Cougars' Brenna Bakken stopped all 22 shots to get the shutout.

This result definitely has an impact on our leaderboard as only 5 prognosticators correctly thought Centennial would win. There were no correct scores.

Edina 3, Stillwater 2
Edina scored all three of their goals in the first period and hung on to beat the Ponies at Braemar. For the game, Stillwater outshot the Hornets 26-18.

Nearly everyone (12 of 14) had Edina winning, and although several came very close there were no correct scores in this one either.

An updated leaderboard will be posted a little later this evening!

Roseau was led by Grace Olson who scored one in each period for the hat trick. Bethany Tangen, Tianna Gunderson and Ciscely Nelson each contributed a goal and two assists for the Rams, and CoCo Piche had two goals for the Green Wave. For the game Roseau outshot East Grand Forks 34-13.

All but one had Roseau winning, and as you would expect nobody guessed the score.

Still no score on the Rogers/Hutchinson game, so without that one figured in here is the top of our leaderboard:

That would be quite a feat to score two goals as a goalie AND stop all 22 shots. Goals should read 2 for Kayla Fuechtmann and 1 for Kolak. Bakken gets the shutout.

The final game from last night did show up in this morning's StarTribune:

Hutchinson 4, Rogers 2
Claire Cripps and Sara Carlson scored two goals apiece to lead the Tigers over Rogers. The shots on goal favored Hutchinson by a 28-25 margin. This was Hutchinson's second big win of the week, having defeated Mound-Westonka 6-3 on Tuesday.

Another upset in the eyes of most of our group. Only two had Hutch winning, and one of them "just happens" to be this week's very shrewd leader, mnhockey3535, who gains a point on most of the field. However ayhfan, who was the only other prognosticator to predict a Tigers' win, stays close at just one point back:

ghshockeyfan, no problem since KRACH's picks are "fixed" based solely on its rankings, plus you've always used 3-1 scores.

With Saturday's games not figured in, KRACH is sitting with just 7 points, so the odds of finishing first are slim-to-none. Still, it's fun to compare, so thanks for adding the picks...
