We continue with our weekly Big Games pick 'em contests after a very busy holiday tournament schedule.

As always, we encourage all forum readers to give this a try! It's a fun way of keeping track of each week's important games, and there is no harm if you happen to be way off base (which I've been all too many times before ). The usual rules apply: One point for each correct winner plus a bonus point if you happen to guess the correct score.

The Hornets got multi-point games from Liz Trautz, Taylor Williamson and Ali Austin to beat the Eagles 4-2.

Minnetonka 4, Hopkins 0
Laura Bowman scores 2 goals, Amy Peterson contributes 3 assists, and Sydney Bowman stops all 20 of Hopkins shots to get the shutout.

Buffalo 4, Wayzata 2
Katie Rooney and Laurie Prodahl score 2 goals apiece to lead the Bison over the Trojans.

Elk River/Zimmerman 5, Blaine 1
Jonna Curtis was the story of this game, pacing the Elks with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Pretty amazing, but there were no correct scores in any of these games! A first day leaderboard will be posted when the other two scores are in.

There were three games on our schedule for tonight, but only two of them were played. The Hub is showing that the BSM/SSM game was cancelled. However the only difference this game could have made in our standings would have been if someone had guessed the score, as everybody had SSM winning the game.

The results of the two other games were:

Andover 2, Elk River/Zimmerman 0

The Hub does not have the score sheet up for this game, just the score. But KARE 11's sports segment tonight did feature the game and showed both of Andover's goals, so the 2-0 result is confirmed. According to our participants this was an upset, as only two (hckynut12 and Hieronymus) picked Andover to win. AND, hckynut12 nailed the 2-0 score to get the bonus. Nice job!

Eden Prairie 4, Blake 2

This one is very tentative. The Hub's recap shows a 0-0 tie, but opening the score sheet shows that Eden Prairie scored 4 goals vs. Blake's 2. The Hub's score sheet is showing that EP's Charly Dahlquist netted two of their goals. For now, I am assuming this is right, but this game and the below point totals are subject to change if the Hub's box score isn't right.

Interesting side note, BSM has 26 games listed on their hub page, did they get a special exception to play SSM twice, or is there a mistake in the schedule.
