No, the Gophs are just as young and haven't proved anymore than the Sioux. They might be over rated but I am completely against the notion that the Gophers should be ranked higher. And let's be honest, the Sioux have been young before, they always seem to be in the mix for a national championship come tournament time.

CenterIce Mike:
Here's a little clue for you: The Sioux have been notoriously slow starters. Hakstol ALWAYS has his team in the mix come playoff time.

The big difference I see with UND this year as compared to some of their prior seasons is they did not return a lot of quality depth up front to replace what they lost the prior year. They lost a boatload of scoring from last year and their margin for error is not going to be very high this year. They are likely going to struggle more to score goals this year.
I see UND having to battle it out a lot harder in many games this year than they have any other year under Hakstol. Which probably means they are going to have a tougher time as the season drags on.

A win and a tie vs. Maine over the weekend?
Sorry, I'm not seeing the "trouble."
UND is a quality program and Hakstol really doesn't take a back seat to anyone. This program is going to be just fine, this year.

Well they took a back seat to Wisconsin tonight, so maybe you're now starting to see a little trouble?

IT'S GAME 5. You really think a team with that many inexperienced forwards is going to come out of the gates on fire? Please. There is going to be some growing pains. Come back and talk about this crap in February. Then we'll know what teams are for real and who the posers are. I think you're just anxious for the Sioux to be in some trouble.

Let's just say I'm not shedding any tears over it.

No doubt it is early so we can't go too far with commentary. At the same time, the inexperience card being waved around by some UND fans seems to overlook that they aren't the only team with a young roster on the ice.
Wisconsin has an even less experienced group in terms of underclassmen in the lineup and they just swept UND. Can't really use that as an excuse against them.
The Gophers have been playing more than a dozen underclassmen in their lineup most games this year and they seem to be handling it.
If anything, where UND has been failing this year has been in the areas that they had more experience in. That being defense and goaltending.

Sioux shutout at home 4-0 at the Ralph...
Had the benefit of two 5 minute majors on Oliver & Hanowski, still could not score...

Sioux fans - What will be the excuse this time. And please dony say you are young. I am pretty sure the gophers are just as youthful. The gophers have 19 freshmen and sophmores to the Sioux having 14. The gophers have 1 junior to the sioux having 7.
So whats the excuse?

It's the first weekend in November, and you are looking for excuses?
Wow.

Boy would a sweep look nice. Would that knock the Sioux out of the top 20?
The one thing I noticed this year compared to other years is the sioux doesnt have the same tenacity. I missed the the little three on three wrestling match, but usually the sioux always have some big hitters. I really expected the sioux to go after guys like Rau, Warning, and Haula more.
Are the sioux getting soft? Ha!

Close. USCHO poll has them at 20.
They don't have the skill up front that they usually have, but they'll improve as some injured players return and freshmen mature. Dell is for real. They'll look better in January/February.
Dammit.
