North American Hockey Classic

Post by HockeyDad41 »

I believe some of the Machine teams are going to this tournament, and am wondering if any of the other local teams might be? The list of participating teams is not out on the website yet.

I've heard it's a pretty good tournament.

Just the blades and orange. [plus 98 icemen] No Mn open teams. To far to drive???

Machine Black team as well as the Snipers are each competing in the event. Not sure if it's too far to drive, but it's the same drive as Chicago, just a whisker under 6 hours. Not that big of a deal considering the competition that will be up there.

He removes them from the website not long after the tourny, no place to find them unless somebody has copied/printed them off.

2002 male
Manitoba 2K2 Warriors
Vancouver Selects
Minnesota Blades
BC Bears
South Sask Selects
Foothills Mustangs
NAA Sting
Minnesota Machine

So who's going to win this one?

Based on the Meltdown and Independent I don't see the Blades going deep in this tournament, unless of course they bring in some other kids, then who knows. JMO.

HD Why all the hate on the Blades? :o) I would bet he Vancouver Selects team will take it all. They are tough at all levels look me up at the rink and I will buy you a taco in a bag. They have the best up there.

So who are you picking? Seven possibilities since you have elminated the Blades. You going to Winnipeg with your 00 player?

Machine will probably be 3rd in this unless they get a couple of lucky bounces. I would bet that either the Warriors or more likely the Vancouver Selects will win it.

Not sure why HD41 has all of the hate on the Blades. Bigger question is why he cares so much about the 02s. Maybe he got bent out of shape about Winnipeg because he thought the order of the teams on the website is a pre-tournament ranking, and since the Blades can't win anything, how could they be ranked ahead of his beloved Machine.

Nope, My youngest doesn't play for the Blades. I might surprise you and wear an orange hunting hat or something. You can recognize me by the non descript guy sitting away from the crazy's clapping for a good play no matter which team is playing. I will look for you and your 6'4" son next to "Those guys" 8)

I'll be pacing, shouting at the refs and texting line combination "suggestions" to the head coach, all the while shouting instructions to my kid regardless of whether or not he is on the ice. Oh - and eating a free bag taco. :D

Will you be there watching the 02's?

We lost last year to Vancouver in the finals. That is the only game I can honestly say I wish we had back from last year. We are really looking forward to this year! There are a lot of teams that can take the 2002 division this year. The Selects, Machine and Sting are strong in one division. I don't know what to expect from the Blades other than they are a reputable strong organization, the BC Bears are strong and the South Sask Selects are the top team from SASK. Should make for some real tight games! Bring it on!!
