Sorted by District. For 2010-11 team info, go to the High Performance District Rosters on MinnesotaHockey.org
Certainly some surprises including some kids that got cut during tryouts from their district teams but made it via another district.
Congrats all!

I didnt see the games but assumed that Kielly from this years State Championship BA team would have made it. Is there a lot of goalie talent in the 96 group?

Certainly some surprises including some kids that got cut during tryouts from their district teams but made it via another district
Maybe someone could explain to me how this is possible. I know D12 didnt have many kids try out and took some alternates from other districts. But you can't tell me all the districts from the metro area didn't have enough kids to pick from. Like how does a D3 kid play for D6 in the tourney at New Hope last weekend? Anyone?

by D3Dude
D6 had plenty of players to choose from... nobody from D3 was on that roster. It's the southern MN districts (4 and 9) that picked up some metro players that did not make their district rosters.
Geographically, it seems D5 would have benefited from picking up some nice players that were cut from D10 or even D3 or D6..... very strong pools.
Certainly not a perfect process but it offered partipants an extra and fun month of quality hockey and a great tournament with the exception of being charged $20 for the equivalent of three games.

Bittner is from Crookston and he's the real deal (from what I hear).

D3dude,
I'm looking at the program they sold at the New Hope rink last weekend. #2 on District 6 is from St. Louis Park. Ryan Collins. Maybe it is a misprint. If it is, my mistake. But on YOUR post above, it says he's from D3? I forgive you if you messed up.

Rockcrusher....
He's a Bloomington boy and a BSM student.... district affiliation based on home address rather than winter season team. Bloomington = D6. Nuff said. No worries. All is forgiven.

D3dude,
Thanks for the clarification, very interesting to say the least. I noticed all the Shattuck boys there playing for various districts, should have put two and two together.

If an association doesn't offer an A team and a kid waivers out to a different district, does that mean they play under the original district for the Advanced 15? If yes, who recommends the kid? I'm not very familiar with how this process works. Appreciate any insight.

First of all I think you mean association, not district, but if an association doesn't offer A level of play the player is supposed to stay in the same District and play with the closest neighboring association that does offer A level of play.
But, as for your question, High Performance 15s is based on home residence. Players are nominated by the association where they live. Associations need to keep track of their players, by birthyear, as it's not uncommon for the players to be playing for any number of different teams with the two most common being open enrolled at a public school outside of their District and playing with the association team where there new school is located or attending a private school outside their District and playing either with the private school or the association where their private school is located. Other examples are Shattuck or other winter teams based elsewhere. Regardless, their name is submitted by the youth association where the family resides.
16s and 17s are based on High School team and Section.
