Quite the shocker!
Davis has been the rock of the Wayzata HS and youth programs for 16 years. I wish him well in his retirement.

As for possible replacements, let start a list:

Pat O'Leary-Davis' assistant
Larry Olimb-former Wayzata girls varsity head coach
Dave Snuggerud-former Chaska head coach and teacher at Wayzata HS
Aaron Johnson-Current head coach and teacher at Orono

One has to think that if Snuggerud wants to get back in, he has to be the front runner.

One trip to the state with all the talent Wayzata has produced?

-Snuggerud is a teacher at Wayzata East Middle School
-he's a great coach and teacher
-O'leary knows his stuff
-Jonathan Lindahl aka 'JL' should be mentioned. Current coach of Wayzata Junior Gold has a decent track record of 79-5-3 with 2 state championships over the last 2 seasons.

- I'll take Snuggerud as the winner

wouldn't Hall Tearse be a candidate? He was a long time youth coach in Wayzata before taking the Providence job,

You guys are too hard on Wayzata. Their section is tougher than the state tourney itself.

agreed. not to mention the teams after the 2004 tourny team the age groups didn't have much talent at all in youth hockey.. some even finishing last in their DISTRICT one year in bantam A.

Nothing like driving 30 miles each way to practice and back.

Could he be a candidate and bring his son Rem eventually in? Lives right by the high school.

Put Pitlick and Snuggerud on the bench together.
Wayzata would definitely keep their better players from leaving for the privates and would make multiple state tourney appearances.

It makes a lot of sense. Hopefully, AD does the right thing

I've seen this Rem Pitlick kid, quite the player. Very similar to Cameranisi.

Agree. Rem is unbelievable and has a real chance to make the NHL. Also, his dad is the best coach in the history of Wayzata hockey and his sweet hands products are amazing.

They better give his dad the job or he will pack up and take Rem to Shattuck.

Why would they hire a youth coach who has already been suspend from coaching youth hockey for breaking the rules. Pitlick is a joke. Is son is very good, the dad is a joke.

God forbid he goes to Shattuck, then Wayzata's high school team might not make the state tourney for 7 straight years...

Wow, that's some harsh words. Just because he likes to shorten the bench while coaching 9/10 yr olds to win a game or pulling his 9 yr old son off the squirt A team because he didn't think he would develop enough at the Squirt A level doesn't mean he is a joke. He is just a typical over the top parent coach that takes youth hockey way too serious.

I watched Rem play all Bantam A season and he was the best Bantam A player in the state. He could definitely step in and play for Wayzata varsity.
He is a little small but play him between Lucia and Majka and he would do great!
