7AA in 2011-12

This should be one of the most exciting seasons ever in 7AA with Duluth East likely being the Pre-Season #1 in the polls and Grand Rapids being a top 5 team in the state next year. Their rosters will look very similar from last season. Cloquet was in the bantam state tourney 2 years ago so they should be on the rise and Elk River's bantam team this year is ranked #4 in the state. The semi's and final at Amsoil should be even better next season, and the final between GR and East was the best atmosphere of any section playoff game I went to, Mariucci arena wasn't close for intensity though their games were entertaining.

I'm good w/that! STMA should add to &AA. They have very good youth teams right now. should be moving up over the next couple years.

I'm curious how good Elk River and Cloquet will be next season.

Our kids played the Lumberjacks twice. They had a 9th grader who was very good.

Karson Kuhlman I think is his name. I know he'll be back, but they have a lot to replace from graduation on that top line. Who will their goalie be?

I expect Elk River to be pretty good this coming year. I need to take a look at how much scoring they have returning (unless an ER person can enighten us), but they have a great Bantam A team, and teams with great Bantam A teams feeding in almost always have strong years. Preseason top 20.

Cloquet is in a bigger bind--they have to get Kuhlman some support. One or two strong players cannot make a team a section contender, especially when there are teams like DE and GR in the section. Forest Lake is in a similar situation.

STMA may be a threat in the near future, but I doubt they will be this coming year. Their PS2 ranking this past season was about on par with Cambridge, and their Bantam A squad is currently ranked somewhere in the 60s in the state. The PeeWees look to be the group to watch out for.

Over the next 4 to 6 years this section should be one of the strongest sections in the state.

They will have a very good, young goalie in Chase Perry. Got a chance to watch him in the naphl in Blaine this weekend.

Elk River will be much improved this year. Last year ER had a small senior class. Jaremko will be much missed at D, but ER doesn't loose much scoring. ER will return 7-8 seniors and have a very talented group of sophomores who will contribute up front with a couple of very good scorers in Zerban, Springman and the young Jaremko. ER will return 3 solid D and 4 year starting goalie in Franke. They will very much be a threat for 7AA this year. The road goes thru Duluth, but there may be detour.

By the way I have the Lumberhacks coming in at 3rd in the mighty section 8AA. hahahahahaha.
Come on down Highway 2 on November 26 and watch your boys take another thumping like last year.

I got the Jacks at 2 so we are not far off there.

Probably will make the trip to GR on that Saturday.

Watched your football kids come over and get 'schooled'.
It was a good win for the Jacks as my fiancees 9th grader got some time onthe field.

Also, it is just the SLiCaB's that are restricted on this board!
