A look at Parity in Minnesota Bantams and Pee Wees

A break down of Let’s play hockey’s 2011 “top Twenty” looks like this. Most of the top 20 teams in Minnesota hockey are in 5 districts.. For the purpose of this analysis we’ll call them the “top five”.

They are Districts 2, 3, 6, 8 and 10.

Bantam A … Top 5 Districts .. 85%

Bantam B1 … Top 5 Districts ...90%

Pee Wee A .. Top 5 Districts ....75%

Pee Wee B1 ….Top 5 Districts....100%

When all eighty of these teams are grouped together, 87.5% come from the Top 5 districts….

66.25 % come from the Big Three …Districts three, six and ten …

Conclusion: In 2011, if you are in the Big Three, you have parity. If you are in District two or eight, you’re close.. If you are in one of the other eight Districts, Not so much.

After reading all the comments on the “Rochester Red” Thread, I thought I would post this for a little reality check, about, for lack of a better word “Development.” I have my thoughts, I’ll leave you to yours !!
