Let's Abuse the Transitive Property!

Here's an activity for the forum this week.
Create the most ludicrous statement possible based on the logical use of scores that have come in at some point this season.
For example:
Rochester Century lost to Owatonna by 1.
Eastview lost to Rochester Century by 1.
Rosemount lost to Eastview by 3.
Lakeville North lost to Rosemount by 1.
Eagan lost to Lakeville North by 1.
Prior Lake lost to Eagan by 8.
Bloomington Jefferson lost to Prior Lake by 2.
Apple Valley lost to Bloomington Jefferson by 1.
Duluth East lost to Apple Valley by 3.
Cambridge-Isanti lost to Duluth East by 16.
Cambrige-Isanti tied Spring Lake Park.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s lost to Spring Lake Park by 1.
Hill-Murray lost to Benilde-St. Margaret’s by 2.
Therefore, Owatonna would beat Hill-Murray by 40.
I suspect that's beatable...see what you can do.

I love it when people do these; however, I am too "busy" to do one myself.
Nice one, Karl.

I've done these before. You can always make it from the worst teams to the best. Especially this year....

Thanks to that massive upset last night, I tried to find a short but shocking path...
Fargo South/Shanley beat West Fargo by 6
West Fargo beat St. Francis by 7
St. Francis beat Cambridge-Isanti by 4
Cambridge-Isanti beat Spring Lake Park by 1
Spring Lake Park beat Benilde-St. Margaret's by 1
Therefore, Fargo South/Shanley would beat Benilde-St. Margaret's by 19!

Yeah, but...
Mankato East beat Windom
Windom beat Waseca
Waseca beat Austin
...which proves that, with just one win, Mankato East is the best team in the state!

Or Bagley, who beat Pine City, who beat Austin .......
Lots of arguments for that top spot.
(all good candidates)

If we could only put all of this collective brainpower to work on something productive, like world hunger, or PeeWee checking, this world would be a better place!

Eh, I deal with all that world hunger stuff in my spare time.
I have my priorities in order.

Karl..... These are classics.
Back in the days of the mid-80s when UM-Duluth was still a powerhouse football team, and would play against my alma mater Winona State, and whoop them repeatedly, your post reminds me of the similar column I wrote as a nationally recognized award-winning collegiate journalist.
I did the same breakdown as you have versus common opponents, and had Winona State making a road trip to Western Illinois and projected that Winona State would lose like 91-0. As part of this common opponent bit (about 8 games worth), UMD beat WSU like 35-0, and Western Illinois beat UMD by a decent margin.
I dedicated the entire column to forfeit. Do not waste the gas, time or our activity fee money on the trip, and to just stay home and avoid the embarassment.
I was hounded by player after player about my column prior to their trip, and I would just say.. "Prove me wrong. You don't stand a chance."
As luck would have it, it was a down pour of rain in Illinois that day, and the game ended up like a 14-10 loss or something.
When the players arrived back in town, I was at my usual spot on a bar stool at our favorite watering hole, when player after player at the bar, on the streets and in the hallways would confront me about how i was so wrong about my column, I did what every award-winning journalist does.
My next week's column spent the whole space on patting myself on the back and taking 100% credit for motivating the team, something the coaching staff was unable to do all year long.
And for those of you who have been accustomed to my posts the past two years, I have spent the better part "motivating" the White Bear Lake team in trying to prove me wrong by my incessant ripping of the coach.
I can't rip them any more.
Coach Sager is the best coach since Scotty Bowman...

Very nice, Goldy...but...does that mean I've just gone and motivated Hill to win a state title?

Well, at least the rankings will be right.
I expect Edger wins, though. Your 2011 state champs, Mankato East...how many goals can we expect them to beat Hill by?

Well, there's 21 steps there, and it takes at least a one-goal advantage to be declared a winner in each game, so ..... Mankato East should beat H-M by +20-some.
Seems logical.

I am guessing that my favorite private school team, along with PPG, pioneers and the rest of us Green and White rooters would be happy at your premise.
But, I fear Mankato East....
