One SEC Game On Tap Tonight 2/8

East Ridge (8-13-0) (SEC, 4-11-0, 9th Place) at Stillwater (13-4-2) (SEC, 11-2-2, 2nd Place)
A Stillwater win would put the Ponies in the SEC points lead, however they will have played two more conference games than White Bear Lake, but we could have a different leader for the first time this season. Since a Jan. 6th 5-1 loss to the Bears the Ponies have put together a nine game unbeaten streak (8-0-1) including Saturday’s win over White Bear. Stillwater cannot afford to have a letdown against the Raptors after Saturday’s emotional win; East Ridge, despite their SEC record can give anyone a game. The Ponies just have to go back a few weeks to remember they needed a last second goal to defeat the Raptors 3-2. East Ridge has played much better over the last week, losing close games to Roseville and White Bear Lake and snapping an eight game SEC losing streak by posting their first shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Forest Lake Saturday afternoon. They have only given up six goals over the last three games, a vast improvement from recent weeks. The Ponies could be in for a tough test, but their goaltending should be the difference and we should see a new SEC point’s leader, at least for a little while.
