i started watching at beginning of second period and didn't think it was the prep because ssm looked so bad. as the period went on they have gotten better.
sta still has a shot though. they look like they can skate with them, although I have to believe they will tire some in the third....
they have to stay out of the box and continue moving. great 3rd goal by sta. ssm defense looks shakey today...

Shattuck plays home games with 20 minute periods; does the MSHSL recognize that?

Probably one reason. Could be the others in the school as well, not sure.

against the mn high school teams ssm plays (sta, aha, bsm) the periods are mshl rules 17 minutes. these games count for both schools (ssm and mn teams).
ssm is not in mshsl, they left a long time ago...

sta just doesn't have the depth to hang with them for three periods, but not many teams do...
bsm could give them a great game...

The hub has each goalie credited with 57 minutes...19 minute periods?
I heard they were playing 20 minute periods; for a team that is used to playing that, that is a huge advantage.

They were supposed to be 17 minute periods. The first and second were 20 and then they STA coaches caught it at the beginning of the third period. 6 Minutes of extra game time is a lot of additional time that tired STA out with them not used to that.
