What are some of the best hockey camps or programs available for girls?

Here is the caveat, what programs actually teach vs putting the girls through drills well orchestrated or not. Teach, stop, correct, play making, etc. Some of this is better suited for AAA hockey but looking for caring coaches who really really TEACH.

Personally I feel MN Made does a great job at this but looking for something outside our comfort zone.

If you come up with something-- I'm looking for something for my u10. She skated last year with Reebok Nats Boys 00. Wants to skate with girls this year. I would like to stay in east metro.

AAA is hit or miss really depends on the coaches at each age level but most of the top teams are more focused on getting the best talent they can and winning tournaments. Tryout for a few teams and talk to the coaches about when and where they practice and what the coaches goals are. Sometimes you can talk to a parent who is staying with the team.

On the western side of the cities there are sites like MM, Velocity, and Hat Trick with year round ice as well as programs to target specific needs. We also have programs run out of arena's like impact that typically are staffed through HS coaches. Pro Edge also seems to be gaining ground and getting some solid skill coaches.

I know the people who run OS and they seem more interested in growing the sport of womens hockey then making a buck. If you want to play past HS at any level they will have contacts from D1, D3 to Club or Senior Womens.

As a parent you need to figure out what it is your looking for. From summer fun and meeting new friends to hardcore workouts (all the way down to U8) and everything in between. Nowhere in the country do you have more options then the here. If you can wait till March a day at the lets play hockey show gives you one place to meet just about everyone.
