And the value of this is?

Since teams lose players at year end, wouldn't this be more useful (or at least interesting) if the comparisons were made week per week or every 2 weeks? Wouldn't that show which teams are improving during the current season and which teams are not?

Occasionally I receive requests to make comparisons like this – expanding on the KRACH ranking alone. There was a similar one from the end of last year (comparing one season to the next):
Most Improved Teams 08-09 to 09-10 via KRACH
http://www.ushsho.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24034
FWIW - What I understand the original request/intent to be was illustration of what teams improved "most" as these teams aren't always recognized if not ranked in the top 20. They did however make great improvement. One could argue that moving from 120 to 110 isn't as large of an improvement as moving from 20 to 10 but that aspect wasn't entirely the point of this request from what I understand.

I agree that an "in-season" or weekly comparison would be interesting as well.

At a quick glance - for me - this also:
1) Shows the short-term impact of creating or dissolving co-ops (e.g. SB/TH/CC/Ely/B-E or East Ridge/Woodbury respectively).
2) Confirmed what teams, confs, sections, classes, and geographic areas have moved-up or are rebuilding.

As to the "value" of this.... Hmm... :? I had to laugh at this question  Not sure that there is much "value" in any of this. For some it's interesting - and they find whatever "value" they want from this  Some don't understand or care (not to worry if you fall into the latter group :D ).

Bottom line? Game is still played on the rink and players & teams change from year-to-year (or even week-to-week) :!:
