Are they a new program, a co-op with a name change, or what?

Anyone with info, that would be great.

That was one thing that crossed my mind. What's with the name change?

They are based out of a church and a small school building in Andover. From what I hear they are building a large campus in Ramsey. With Larson, former Blaine HS coach, I think they have major intentions on growing a stronger Hockey program.

The name change is a result of the school attempting to develop a brand for itself, separate from Meadow Creek Church in Andover. The school and church are not tightly connected. You might want to keep this school and its very young hockey program on your radar. A group of highly motivated families, led by the president of J&B Meats (No Name Steaks), is leading the charge to remake this k-12 school and build a new school, possibly off of highway 10 in Ramsey (between Anoka and Elk River).

The Legacy varsity team is coached by Steve Larson. Steve formerly coached at Blaine, leading Blaine to a state title. I am told that Steve is an excellent coach and a good role model. The hockey team skates out of the Super Rink, using the Bethel locker facilities.

Yep they are formally Meadow Creak Saint (still wearing the Saints Jersey).
They are building a new campus that will open in a little over a year. They bought the land at Bunker Lake Blvd and Armstrong Blvd. The new building is to open fall of 2012.
Coach Larson is building something here. This will be the first year with a JV team.
Lost to Proctor on Sat night. Have a strong group of underclass playing on the varsity this year. It looks like a few freshmen even playing penalty kill and the freshman did a good job of keeping up with Proctor boys. BUT the Legacy did lose to Proctor 8 to 0; this team may be pretty good in the Two River conference in the next few years.

Do they have plans for a rink on campus?

That would be awesome, but since Anoka's two sheets are just down the road, Andover's is just past Anoka's and Schwannie is not that much further and the new CR sheets should be up soon, I'd doubt it.

Yes there are plans for a rink on campus and the city of Ramsey is interested as there are not a lot of rinks in the area that they are building.

well they tied Minneapolis last night, and they do have some momentum going... pretty young team, have to see what they can keep doing.

Richfield, for a team that was thought to be extinct, has played pretty good. I have been impressed by their play and the coaching is doing great.
I know nothing about Meadow Christian, but I think Richfield will come out on top.

Legacy is very improved

The Legacy team is very improved. When we played them last year, we were able to run up the points. This year is a very different story with a close game to the end. We all noticed that Legacy is no longer the Meadow Creek team of 2009. Great job to the coaching and the boys.
