BSU Beavers

Beavers are off to an unimpressive start.
At least in the win-loss columns.
But I think Beaver fans are still very excited, as the Beavers have played well in every game.
We are still optimistic that things will come together in December and the wins will come and perhaps a home play-off game may happen.

Absolutely agree with this. With the exception of their very first series against UND, which they were completely out manned, Bemidji has been very competitive in almost every game.
Another reason for Beavers fans to be excited is news of a new recruit they snagged from the Sioux in Danny Mattson.

Will the Beavers get any points against the rodents?

I'm predicting the Beavers will sweep the Gophs, but I'm also a BSU student so I'm probably not thinking clearly

The Beavers looked good in the first. Let's see if they can keep it going.

Gopher Dmen struggling again... so hard to watch in D-zone, passive, no urgency, can't break out, against Beavers...
Its like we have a ticket to this one... everyone is watching the game, not moving feet...
Wehrs, Fairchild, Ness, Holl and Helgeson tough to watch in D-zone... Alt is the rock back there... What do we have for Dmen coming next year, Marshall...

Brain freeze here, who else do we have coming at D?
This Gopher team continues to struggle with puck control. BSU has had the puck in our zone for 60 to 65% of the game... What is with Hoeffel and Barribal, they cannot keep the puck or get good shots off all year... Definitely not the Senior year they expected, or I us fans expected...
Bjugstad has been good tonight. Sorry... hate to be negative, but not seeing the game I thought the Gophers would play with home ice on the line...
Tell me something fellow forumers... What is the deal with the Refs not blowing the whistle when puck posession is obtained and you have a fellow teamate down on the ice... Twice tonight for the Gophers with Ness & Mattson... I know its up to the Refs discretion, but both seemed appropriate...

What was that call on Bjugstad...
Knocked stick out of Beaver's hand, one hand on stick... home cooking call, that is for sure...

A Beaver never gives up a stick, very weak call. Right on about Gophers D, really have a hard time with pressure. My guess is with Hill coaching the D, they will always have a tough time!

Should be high school senior, Bjugstad, already looks like a man playing with boys in the college game.

Wehrs(?) dad was standing right behind me at the game and the early word on Ness was that he broke a few ribs and Mattson had a concussion. One hell of a game to watch thats for sure. The new arena had a great atmosphere all night.

[/quot. May have started school late, this was to be his sr year. Age wise, I think he would have graduated last yr because he was drafted with kids who were srs.

Dan Bakala showed that he is the cream of the crop for the WCHA as far as goalies go. I've been to probably 75% of the Beaver home games this year and knew he was very good, but I've never seen him play that well. He did everything he could tonight to win that game and few bad plays by his teammates hurt him. Another great game to watch though. Incredible series to watch live for those who couldn't be in attendence
