Jess Aney of Rochester MN is up for Sports Illustrated SportsKid of the year. It would be great for girls hockey to see a hockey girl on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids in December. If you want to support her by voting (as much as you want – closes on Monday Oct 18 ):

I have known Jess for a number of years and had the privilege of coaching her sister last winter. Jess is a top notch hockey and tennis player who also plays Lacrosse.

Thanks Mac, I agree it would be great to see a MN hockey player win this award!

A phenom in tennis, a very good hockey player, an excellent student, and a very nice young girl!

If you get a chance, please support this exceptional young lady from Rochester MN.

Voting closes on October 18 at 12 P.M. EST

My daughter played with her on a team a few years ago, good kid and a amazing athlete. Well deserved!

I just read in tonight's Rochester Post-Bulletin that Jessie has been selected as the Sports Kid if the Year. Congratulations to Jessie. She is a focused, hard working athlete.

This is a real honor for a 7th grader and it reflects well on girls hockey in general!

Congratulations to Jessie. It is great to see a Minnesotan get this award and a hockey player is even better!
