I witnessed something I have never seen before.
At the Legacy tryouts on October 22 they had no pinnies for the kids to wear.
The '98 and '97 group skated without any tryout jerseys.
They wore their own personal jerseys for the tryout.
So the evaluators had no way of knowing who was who on the ice.
They never even asked the kids what jersey they were wearing (color, number, etc.)
So, my question is, how could they have evaluated the players when they had no clue who they were on the ice?
This is my first dealing with this team, are they for real or is the tryout just a money grabbing scam?
Maybe they didn't have to evaluate the players because they already had the team picked before the tryout?
Either way, this definitely leaves a bad feeling for this team.
Never seen anything like this before.

I would be surprised if the '97 team was looking for more than a couple players.

In my (limited) experience, at a tryout like this for an established team, if they see someone on the ice that they are interested in, they will go up to the kid and ask them his/her name. Otherwise, they just watch and don't really care who the kids are.
