Pretty good article.
Don has a good point.
Everybody jumps to conclusions, but do not really know all that is going on.

(few days late, I know)
Interesting comments re Ness. His lack of success can't be a surprise.
- he started with the gophers at too young an age.
- lets face it; defensive play was never his strong suit. While you can get away with that in high school, no way in college, especially the WCHA.
I can't see Lucia et al being blamed for any perceived lack of development on his part.

Interesting...Ive been wondering more about the impact of Hill. Things started going south after he was hired. As for Ness he is still needs to get bigger. His defensive game isnt the strongest. I wondered if he should move to forward.

Don't know about Hill; it's not defensemen that have been leaving early, i.e.
Agreed about Ness/forward. I thought that before he was even at the U.

Lofquist and Leddy come to mind.
I have a good feeling about Ness this year. He will come in more mature and stronger. However, he needs to improve his D technique. A good D coach could help him with that. Look at a guy like Rafalski, I think he is listed at 5'9". Although he is stocky, he is great with his technique. You learn the technique by being taught. Seems to make sense.

I agree. I hope this is Ness' year. this would be his "freshman year" if he stayed in school, went to juniors, etc... So hopefully there will be a giant step forward. would really like to see him do well.
