What do you think about them next year

I do know some people from Stillwater. As far as I know they have pretty high hopes for this coming year. I don't know anything about the bantams coming up but they have some returning leadership on the team.
I heard their JV was pretty bad, I watched them play Woodbury and they had all they could do to tie and Woodbury was very weak.
Phil Housley, yes an excellent coach and what a mentor.

Make sure there is an eraser at the end of that pencil.

Hence the pencil, or erasable dry board marker will do

Solid Goaltending - Defiel and Cates will be tough to beat
Defense - will be better with a healthy K Mogren and more experienced Corbett, soild JV guy to move up
Offense - will be fast and can score but will lack size.
JV was top in Conference for the 2nd year
Top 3-4 in Conference.

Looking at last year’s team it is obvious that this is the season of seniors. Looks like there should be at least 2 very solid forward lines (mostly seniors) and 4 solid returning D (three seniors and one Junior). Not too much after that however. If the Ponies ever have had a chance, this is it.

I stand corrected, Corbet and Goeff are both juniors.

Stillwater's best chance ocurred a couple of yrs ago when they faced a short-handed Pioneer team in a section final. The Ponies couldn't get it done. Then last year, they never matched all the pre-season hype and turned out to be an average club. They will once again finish in the middle of the conference and lose in the section semis.

Maybe so Pioneerprideguy……but maybe not. They split with us last year so I have to give a little credit where credit is due. The conference is tough and with WBL, Stillwater, Woodbury, Roseville and Cretin all fighting it out, who knows what could happen. At least we are in a competitive league and not playing the little sisters of the poor.
Just remember……when the Pioneers lost to Tonka, five of the kids on the ice were from Stillwater. Maybe they should have had a few kids from Cretin on the ice to seal the deal?

Wow, I guess we are just skipping tryouts this year? Do you have the 2010 roster already?

Just remember, all Pioneer players were students at Hill-Murray.

I don't know much about the junior class. I have watched this class of seniors as my nephew as worked through the system. The Ponies need someone to consistantly score goals. Don't we all.

Kinda touchy, eh? I think it's safe to make assumptions in late August about who we all think might be making contributions. Since none of us actually have a say in the matter, it doesn't really do any harm, does it?

The Ponies must be pretty weak if last year's JV guys are assuming they will make the varsity.
Evenly matched doesn't mean your conference is strong.
I imagine the Little Sisters of the Poor think their conference is tough, too.
In contrast, I've never seen as much talent trying out for so few spots as they will have at Hill this year.
Even last year's varsity guys better be ready.

Youngblood may be a hater with the name-calling,
but he knows what he is talking about when he concedes the state championship to Hill,
knowing the Pioneers' hockey program is proven superior to the Ponies' in every sectional playoff ...
"religiously."
Plus, we both like "'08"!

Wasn't at least one of those Stillwater wins won by Coach Lechner? Heck, even he left Stillwater to come to Hill.
