10U Game Summaries
Junior Blizzard (5), Loons Black (1)
The Junior Blizzard came ready to play defeating the Loons Black by a score of 5-1 to start the tournament. April Jost started the scoring followed by goals from Alexis Heckert, McKenzie Revering, Calley Richardson, and Alyssa Loveland. The Loons never gave up and scored the final goal of the game on a nice goal by Asia Gobel. Sarah Finley stopped 12 of 13 picking up the win for the Blizzard.
Legacy (1), Ice Bucks (0)
A great battle of the goalies here as the Legacy defeat the Bucks 1-0. The lone goal was scored half-way through the game as Sydney Shearen blasts one home with Ashley Healy picking up the assist. Playing great and stopping all ten shots she faced was Calla Frank for the Legacy. Gabrielle Suhr was superb in the nets for the Bucks stopping 20 of 21 shots she faced.
Junior Blizzard (7), Ice Bucks (0)
The Blizzard were clicking on all cylinders as they defeat the Bucks by a touchdown 7-0. Scoring two goals each were April Jost and Alexis Heckert. Bryne Del Castillo was the play-maker recording three helpers. Also having a nice game was McKenna Ellingson with a goal and an assist. Sarah Finley stopped all six shots she faced for the shutout.
Legacy (4), Loons Black (2)
The Loons started the scoring in this game as Madeline Friede put one home early with the assists going to Maighyn DeGagne and Brooke Arvidson. Then Legacy’s Sydney Shearen took over scoring her hat-trick as she scored two goals late in the first period and one early in the third. About five minutes into the third period Megan McKenzie put one home to give the Legacy a 4-1 lead. However the Loons never gave up and scored one themselves with seven minutes remaining as Friede scores her second of the game to make the final 4-2. Both goalies were great in the game as Calla Frank from the Legacy and Emily Oman each stopped 29 shots in the game.
Ice Bucks (2), Loons Black (0)
This 10U game was another game with strong goaltending. The Ice Bucks score early in the second period as Marissa Kelly scores with an assist going to Kathryn Yeigh. The score remained that way until just nine seconds remained when Nicole Eberding slid a puck into an empty net giving the Bucks a 2-0 win. Gabrielle Suhr was great in the nets for the Bucks picking up the shutout stopping all 16 shots she faced. Emily Oman was outstanding stopping 28 of 29 in defeat for the Loons.
Junior Blizzard (4), Legacy (1)
The Junior Blizzard play their third great game in a row defeating the Legacy 4-1. The Blizzard started the scoring early as McKenzie Revering lit the lamp. Late in the period Onna O’Connor put one home to up the lead to 2-0. Midway through the third period O’Connor scored again but the Legacy wouldn’t give up as Anna Solheim ripped one home with the assist going to Sydney Shearen. In the third period the only goal was scored by the Blizzards Revering to make the final 4-1. Both Bryna Del Castillo and McKenna Ellingson each had two assists for the Blizzard. Sarah Finley stopped 11 of 12 for the victors and Calla Frank did all she could to keep the Legacy in the game stopping 30 of 34 shots.
Ice Bucks (1), Loons Black (0)“3rd Place Game”
The Ice Bucks and Loons played almost a repeat game that was played the night before as they score a goal in the second period and hold on to win it 1-0. There was no score until early in the second period when Katrina Thoe put one home with the lone helper going to Ally Gunderson. The Bucks hold off a rally by the Loons and win the third place game. Gabrielle Suhr picks up her second straight shutout

The Junior Blizzard concluded the tournament undefeated winning all four games it played defeating the Legacy 6-1. Scoring two goals and adding an assist for the Blizzard was Alexis Heckert. McKenzie Revering had a goal and an assist. Lydia Mann, McKenna Ellingson, and Bryna DelCastillo also scored for the Blizzard. Sydney Shearen did score a nice goal for the Legacy in the contest. Sarah Finley stopped 12 of 13 for the win and Calla Frank stopped 28 in a losing cause for the Legacy

Lake Superior Stars (9), Raging Bulls (1)
The Lake Superior Stars stars scored the first four goals and never looked back in this one winning it 9-1. Recording the hat-trick and chipping in with an assist for the Stars was Jessica Bird. Harley Kinney had a nice game as well scoring two goals for the victors. Shannon Hart stopped 13 of 14 and recorded the win.
Skate to Excellence (3), Ice Bucks (1)
Skate to Excellence started strong scoring the first three goals but the Ice Bucks scored a goal late in the second period and out-shot Skate to Excellence 11-2 in the third period but couldn’t make the score any closer. Nikki Olmshenk, Jenna Gerber, and Laci Petronack scored for the victors with Ainsley Williams scoring for the Bucks. Samantha Klemann and Molly Scarbourough stopped 19 of 20 in nets for Skate to Excellence.
Fighting Loons Black (2), Great Lakes Gulls (0)
In a real close back and forth game the Loons Black squad defeated the Great Lakes Gulls 2-0. Scoring the first goal midway through the game was Grace Pederson followed by a goal in the third period by Olivia Lien. Recording the shutout was Shanleigh Fryer who stopped all 10 shots she faced for the Loons. Megan Andrew played well in defeat stopping 16 of 18 shots.
Lake Superior Stars (7), Great Lakes Gulls (1)
Samantha Mugge had two goals and two assists to lead the way as the Lake Superior Stars defeated the Great Lakes Gulls 7-1. Morgan Friday added a goal and an assist for the Stars. Shannon Hart played well in the nets recording the win.

What a great game played at Graham Arena in Rochester. The Loons Black scored first midway through the game as Cassie Pelland blasted one home with Lauren Hedlund adding the helper. A few minutes later however Skate to Excellence tied it up as Maggie Madson lit the lamp with Taylor Kinn adding the assist. The Most Valuable Player of the game however probably was C.J. Ecker from the Loons squad as she stopped 40 of 41 shots faced in the nets.
Ice Bucks (9), Great Lakes Gulls (1)
The Ice Bucks score six goals in the third period to turn a 3-1 game into a 9-1 game. Madison Overby and Emma Christenson had great games for the Ice Bucks each scoring two goals. Also playing well was Karli Reinhart who had a goal and three assists for the Gulls. Mara Overby and Allison Hoban combined to stopped 13 of 14 for the victors.
Skate to Excellence (5), Great Lakes Gulls (0)
Skate to Excellence did what they had to do to advance to the championship game defeating the Gulls 5-0. In the game each Alexandria Gallus and BreAnna Simon scored two goals for Skate to Excellence. Molly Scarbourough stopped 8 shots she faced to record the shutout.
Loons Black (7), Raging Bulls (2)
Rachel Getson ate her Wheaties before the game and came out smoking scoring the games first three goals for the Loons. She added another goal and an assist later in the game. C.J. Ecker stopped 20 of 22 to pick up the win.

After the Ice Bucks scored the first goal of the game the Lake Superior Stars scored the next two to advance to the championship game. The Ice Bucks scored first as the girl with possibly the greatest name in the tournament scored as Hollywood Hermanson put one home to give the Bucks the lead with the lone helper being credited to Madison Overby. The Stars scored the equalizer with seven minutes remaining as Samantha Mugge tied it up. With just 1:20 remaining on the clock Morgan Friday became the hero scoring the game winning goal with Hailey Martin picking up the assist. The goalies in the game played well for both teams as 60 of 63 shots were stopped in the game.
Great Lakes Gulls (3), Raging Bulls (2) Overtime “Consolation Game”
A very exciting game from the get-go. The Gulls scored the only goal of the first period as Chloe Jenson scored from Abby Halverson. In the second period the Bulls scored both goals as Laura Stehler put one home with the assist going to Jennifer Carbajal followed by a goal from Nicole Sedey with Claire Tipler and Savana Gibbs picking up the helpers. The Gulls were able to tie the game at two in the third period as Emily Boo blasted one home with Amanda Hinaus and Halverson recording the assists. The game went to overtime and early in the period Avery Ziegler became the hero for the Gulls as she scored the game winner with Gabriela Hughes recording the lone assist. In the nets for the Gulls was Stacy Nelson and she stopped 18 of 20 for the win.
Loons Black (3), Ice Bucks (2) “3rd Place Game”
Another great 12U game!!! The Loons started off scoring early in the game on a goal by Rachel Getzon but the Bucks bounced back as Magdalyn Wick scored with an assist going to Emma Christensen. The Loons scored late in period one as Hailey Martin put one home with Olivia Lien getting the assist. In the second period the Loons scored again as Juliet Tunberg lit the lamp with Claire Mattson recording the assist. Late in period two the Bucks narrowed the gap to 3-2 as Madison Overby scored with Karli Reinhart adding the helper. There was no more scoring in the game. C. J. Ecker stopped 18 of 20 for the Loons.
Lake Superior Stars (2), Skate to Excellence (1) “Championship Game”
This game like all three games on this day went right down to the wire and being decided by a goal. The Lake Superior Stars started out hot out-shooting Skate to Excellence 8-3 in the first period but there was no score. They continued the pressure early in the second period and were finally able to break the ice as Morgan Friday blasted one home with Jessica Bird recording the assist. After that Skate to Excellence controlled the period and despite out-shooting the Stars 11-4 they couldn’t score a goal. They continued the pressure throughout the third period and finally were able to score a goal as Jenna Gerber put one over the line with BreAnna Simon and Alexanda Gallus picking up the assists. However Lake Superior Stars Callie Hoff really wanted the tie to be as short as possible as just six seconds later she took the face off and went coast to coast and gave the Stars the lead again which they would not relinquish. Shannon Hart was incredible in the nets for the Lake Superior Stars stopping 21 of 22 shots. In the tournament she only yielded four goals on 71 shots.
14U Game Summaries
Ice Bucks (4), Great Lakes Gulls (0)
The Ice Bucks had four different players score in the 4-0 win over the Gulls. With a goal and two assists was Shantel Loos. Each with a goal and an assist was Laura Meillier and Shelby Greer. Ashley Weber also scored for the Gulls. Picking up the shutout was Jessica Hawkinson. She stopped all 16 shots she faced in the game. Playing incredibly in the nets in a losing cause for the Gulls was Kaylen Hendrickson. She stopped 40 of 44 in the game.
Minnesota Michief ( 8 ), Team Miken (0)
The Mischief really came ready to play in this contest out-shooting Team Miken 48-15 and out-scoring them 8-0. Both Kalli McCullen and Sarah Pellici had two goals and and assist in the game. Kalli McCullen had a goal and an assist in the contest. Kelli Pritzlaff picked up two helpers in the game. Recording a 15 save shutout was Cassie Heyman for the Mischief.
Minnesota Mischief (6), Great Lakes Gulls (0)
The day after picking up two assists Kelli Pritzlaff picked up two goals to lead the way for the Mischief in its 6-0 win over the Gulls. Kalli McCullen and Casey Eckerson each had a goal and an assist in the game. Scoring the other goals for the Minnesota Mischief were Maddie Lindquist and Sabrina Smith. Picking up her second straight shutout was Cassie Heyman.
Team Miken (2), Ice Bucks (0)
McKenna Bridges and Brandyn DelCastillo put the biscuit in the basket for Team Miken in this 2-0 win over the Ice Bucks. Amy Jost was unbelievable in the nets stopping all 41 shots she faced for Team Miken to record the shutout. Kacy Borwege played well in defeat stopping 20 of 22.
Great Lakes Gulls (3), Team Miken (1)
The Great Lakes Gulls play a great game and defeat Team Miken 3-1. Scoring for the Gulls were Hannah Gregorich, Madeline Spangenberg, and Tianna Stewart. Stopping 34 of 35 in the nets for the Gulls picking up the win was Kaylen Hendrickson.
Minnesota Mischief (4), Ice Bucks (1)
Four different players score for the Mischief in their 4-1 win over the Ice Bucks. Scoring the goals for the Mischief were Kalli McCullen, Greta Nundahl, Bridget Thompson, and Casey Eckerson. The Ice Bucks scored a late goal as Brenna Westrom put one home. Cassie Heyman stopped 13 for the win. Doing all she could and keeping the score close was Jessica Hawkinson as she stopped an amazing 43 shots in the game.
Great Lakes Gulls (3), Team Miken (2) “3rd Place Game”
Alicia Jensen really wanted the Gulls to take home some hardware so she almost by herself gave the Gulls a 3-2 win over Team Miken. In the game she scored the first goal, assisted on the second goal, and scored the game winning goal. Scoring the other goal for the Gulls on a great shot was Madeline Spangenberg. Recording two helpers for the Gulls was Christina Enright. Goalie Kaylen Hendrickson played great stopping 16 shots and recorded the win.
Minnesota Mischief (2), Ice Bucks (0) “Championship Game”
Team Miken scores two late goals to win this one 2-0. In the game the Ice Bucks played a great defensive game against a team that had nearly 50 shots on them the night before. They did not want to give up many shots but that limited their opportunities. They did have a few chances on a power play in the second period and a breakaway late in the second period but could not capitalize. With only three and a half minutes remaining in the game Casey Eckerson buried the biscuit on a breakaway to give the Mischief a 1-0 lead. In the final minute for good measure Kelli Pritzlaff put one home with the helpers going to Sabrina Smith and Eckerson. In the nets Cassie Heyman stopped all eight shots she faced for the shutout. Playing well in defeat for the Ice Bucks was Kacy Borwege. She stopped 26 of 28 shots in the game.

McKenna Bridges and Brandyn DelCastillo put the biscuit in the basket for Team Miken in this 2-0 win over the Ice Bucks. Amy Jost was unbelievable in the nets stopping all 41 shots she faced for Team Miken to record the shutout. Kacy Borwege played well in defeat stopping 20 of 22.
Great Lakes Gulls (3), Team Miken (1)
The Great Lakes Gulls play a great game and defeat Team Miken 3-1. Scoring for the Gulls were Hannah Gregorich, Madeline Spangenberg, and Tianna Stewart. Stopping 34 of 35 in the nets for the Gulls picking up the win was Kaylen Hendrickson.
Minnesota Mischief (4), Ice Bucks (1)
Four different players score for the Mischief in their 4-1 win over the Ice Bucks. Scoring the goals for the Mischief were Kalli McCullen, Greta Nundahl, Bridget Thompson, and Casey Eckerson. The Ice Bucks scored a late goal as Brenna Westrom put one home. Cassie Heyman stopped 13 for the win. Doing all she could and keeping the score close was Jessica Hawkinson as she stopped an amazing 43 shots in the game.
Great Lakes Gulls (3), Team Miken (2) “3rd Place Game”
Alicia Jensen really wanted the Gulls to take home some hardware so she almost by herself gave the Gulls a 3-2 win over Team Miken. In the game she scored the first goal, assisted on the second goal, and scored the game winning goal. Scoring the other goal for the Gulls on a great shot was Madeline Spangenberg. Recording two helpers for the Gulls was Christina Enright. Goalie Kaylen Hendrickson played great stopping 16 shots and recorded the win.
Minnesota Mischief (2), Ice Bucks (0) “Championship Game”
Team Miken scores two late goals to win this one 2-0. In the game the Ice Bucks played a great defensive game against a team that had nearly 50 shots on them the night before. They did not want to give up many shots but that limited their opportunities. They did have a few chances on a power play in the second period and a breakaway late in the second period but could not capitalize. With only three and a half minutes remaining in the game Casey Eckerson buried the biscuit on a breakaway to give the Mischief a 1-0 lead. In the final minute for good measure Kelli Pritzlaff put one home with the helpers going to Sabrina Smith and Eckerson. In the nets Cassie Heyman stopped all eight shots she faced for the shutout. Playing well in defeat for the Ice Bucks was Kacy Borwege. She stopped 26 of 28 shots in the game.
