Pinnacle Tournament at Shattuck

The Pinnacle Tournament at Shattuck starts this Friday. It should be very interesting this year since there aren't many Minnesota HS girls in the tournament. Its only my opinion but I think the NDP spring festival and the fact that many other older girls have already committed to colleges probably hurt the MN HS attendance. However, I'm sure it will be good hockey since it appears that most of the girls are from AAA teams from around the USA and Canada. Shattuck projects that there will be as many as 30 college scouts in attendance. See
http://www.s-sm.org/also/summer/hockey.asp for rosters and schedules.

That looks like a lot of fun. It's absolutely too bad the Advanced Tourneys are the same weekend as those are the girls that would likely attend. Seems like a nice group so they didn't have a problem attracting what they did. Do they want 20/30 more Minnesota girls?

I don't think Shattuck cares if there are more Minnesota or players from any other region. I think Shattuck is only concerned with getting the best players to apply. That being said
my guess is that if more quality 2010, 2011 and 2012 players had applied (e.g. the 16s and 17s doing NDP this weekend) they probably wouldn't have accepted as many 2013 and 2014 players.

Its on their website every year. This is the third annual Pinnacle. I know that they send out invites too. In the past it was posted on this site but I think they are largely relying on word of mouth lately.

The Pinnacle tournament at Shattuck-St. Mary's was a great weekend of hockey. Each team had a great mix of girls from varsity teams, U19 and U16 "full-season" teams, as well as prep schools from the US and Canada. 40 girls participated in the all-star game on Sunday and the all-star rosters included five Minnesota varsity skaters and two Wisconsin varsity skaters.

I think the girls had a great time playing good competition and meeting girls from all over the US and Canada. I estimated that there were 20-25 scouts from D1 and D3 schools. It was a lot of hockey, 1 practice and 4 (5 for girls that played in the All-Star game) games. I'm sure the girls will sleep well tonight.

The list of those participating in the all-star game did not include their team, so a little cross-referencing with the original rosters took place. Hopefully I didn't miss anyone...please correct as necessary. In addition to the 15 Shattuck skaters in the all-star game, here are the MN & WI Varsity players that were on the list: Nina Rodgers, Hopkins; Paige Turner, Duluth Northern Stars; McKenna Brand, Park Rapids; Catie Dolan, Hill-Murray; Greer Vogl, Edina; Bonnie Meyer, Hudson (WI); Alex Willi, Hudson (WI).

There were also a couple of MN varsity skaters who I believe were originally slotted for the all-star game, but did not participate...I'm guessing due to other commitments.

Margo Lund from Hill Murray was selected for the All-Star game but she could not participate due to other commitments.
