Can the Eagles keep the magic going? I predict Hornets by three.

Lee, i think Edina is playing really well right now, but i think this game will be a lot closer than 3. I hope Edina doesnt underesyimate Apple Valley. That would be a big mistake in my opinion. i think winner by 1 goal. this one goes either way.

I think this is a much tougher match up for AV. Edina is bigger and more physical on defense and in my opinion has more speed upront than blaine. If the eagles can pull this one off it will be qiute a feat.

I agree. AV can play a physical game and wear down their opponents. They did that to Blaine today. But I saw Edina play in the section finals and they, too, are a physical team only with depth. Depth and physical play should beat a 2 line team. The unknown factor is AV's hot goalie - 3 shutouts in 4 games playoff games....

I'm going to take the overachieving team with the hot goaltender.
Apple Valley 3-2

Agreed, if Gretz stays hot, they can beat anybody. Remember, the name of the game is "Goalie"

Heart says AV 2-1, head says Edina 3-1 (EN)...

Gretz can frustrate a team all he wants but you gotta be able to score. Fashing, Michaelson, Fisher.... its time to put those chances away if you want to move on...

Edina is much deeper than Blaine, much bigger and stronger and has much better D. Prove the worthiness of the 2 seed and find a way past Gretz...

Either way its gonna be a fun game to watch. Cant see a blowout but could see a 2 goal win for either side.

I hope the cinderella story keeps goin....It should be a great game and I agree with the others; if gretz has another game like Blaine, AV has a good chance.

Also, Fasching needs to take more shots and stop trying to be cute.

Don't Underestimate Michaelson's shot either.... he has a howitzer.

As good as the young guns are for AV the difference in depth at forward is huge...Edina just keeps rolling 3 and sometimes 4 lines that can all skate. Gretz will have to be stellar for AV to stick with them. I'd love to see AV win it, but still see this game as a far tougher test than Blaine. If Giles would have coached this way the last couple years I think the hornets might be defending a title. It seems they are all on the same page and not waiting around for a few studs to carry them.

Very true, Fasching has to shoot the biscuit!

I am guessing the youth of AV will be over their first-game jitters, and will play a little more open today.

Even though I am not an avid follower of both teams, and I don't know the story behind the Edina situation, but I personally think if Girard doesn't play better in nets for Edina, AV will win.. I would be rolling with Ankeny in nets... Again, I don't know what happened in the season, but the couple games I saw Ankeny play, I liked him.... But, I would assume Beaupre has it under control.

AV 3-2..... Gretz 32 saves...

Could almost be a copy and paste of some comments I made over the past couple of years.

Any goalie coaches here? Should Gertz just stayed on his skates from that angle and hugged the post and prevented the high shot?

Not a goalie coach but my son and brother are both goalies. They said he did exactly what he should have done. It was just a great shot by Taft.

What a terrible game. AV has been totally outclassed the entire game. All they have is a great goalie and the rest of them look like a Junior Gold team to me.

How did Woodbury lose to those guys?
