Hermantown looked very good in the 3rd today. Unfortunately I was unable to see the Mahtomedi game but did listen to part of it on MNHockeyHub, so I really don't know how that game went other than the Zephyrs handled them quite easily.

Hawks-3
Zephyrs-2

Hopefully 45 will have the streaming working better for this game than they did today.

Regardless of the 6 goal win, Mahtomedi impressed me a lot more than Hermantown. I have to take them by a couple.

The Zephyers looked real good, much deeper then the Hawks. The Zephyers will test the Hawks goalie, who is alittle shakey.

ZEPHYERS-4
HAWKS-2

It's one thing to say you need to play physical versus Ben Marshall, and it's another to actually do it - on the offensive zone. His vision and ice awareness are as good as it gets, and you rarely catch him with his head down. He's too elusive and takes great angles when rushing the puck, and uses his speed variance to his advantage.... when a player thinks they have Marshall lined up, the Ben shifts to another gear, and uses his edges to escape.

On the other hand, Hermantown will need to crash Marshall along the defensive boards, and in front of the net, as he's not the strongest physically. Marshall is very good at taking the stick away from players in front of the net, but he will have his issues with guys Krause's size. Unfortunately for as good as Krause is in the corners and behind the net, Hermantown needs to get him in front of the net.

Zurn and Adams from Mahtomedi can just flat out shoot the puck.

Hermantown did not impress me. Mahtomedi did. They set up great plays and buried the puck.

Hermantown did not impress, but I would give some credit to Virginia. Alexandria was definetely a easier opponent. Should be shown tomorrow when they play each other.

Mahtomedi wins, I was not impressed with Hermantown at all today.

Breck has looked the best so far out of all the teams.

Don't let the scores today fool you, Hermantown can beat Mahtomedi. I like what I saw from Mahto today though. Hopefully the Hawks can pull it off.

Mahto - 3
Htown - 2 ot

I thought Hermantown held their own on Hockey Day versus Eden Prairie... should be able to do so versus Mahtomedi..

Virginia did a great job of taking body and taking ice away from Hermantown. Took Hermantown off their game. I like Hermantown chances in this one. 3 - 2 Hawks.
