If you had to make a team for the 1AA section which top 5 forwards, 2 D, 2 Goalies would you take. Here are the teams you choose from
Lakeville North
Lakeville South
Winona
Dodge County
Mayo
JM
Century
Owatanna
Farmington

So 1AA is so bad you only need 5 forwards, 2 defense and 2 goalies? So do you want a team or just the top players?

There are none, this section is terrible.

Is there really a need to be that big and idiot...the two sophs for north must at least be ok..they've been invited to try out for the ndtp. No these teams don't have the depth of many others but there are some kids that can play.

Do you honestly have nothing better to do than to come on to every thread involving section 1AA and bash it and all the players in it? Grow up, because nobody cares what you have to say. This section may not have as much depth as other sections, but there are still some good players in it. The soph soph fresh line on South is very fun to watch and is one of the best young lines in the state IMO

Lakeville South line, otherwise...

An all star team made up of players from this section wouldn't get through 6AA, that's how bad it is.

Real original to bash this section, lame asses. How about putting thought into coming up with some actual players? I hope Lakeville South wins this section and pulls an upset in the first round, their first line is solid. It's the MINNESOTA STATE hockey tournament, not the Metro tournament. This section is down, but if Rochester had just one or two public schools instead of 3, it would be more competitive with other schools from the Cities.

F - Kyle Osterberg - L'ville S
F - Cory Kautz - Century
F - Drew Wohlfiel - Dodge County (played only 10 games and had 15 goals and 10 helpers)
D - Connor Faupel - Century
D - Adam Truex - Mayo
G - Brock Kautz - Century 13-5-0, 1.99 GAA

Why don't we just wait for all the games to play out until we decide who the idiots are.

Here is an idea, every time you feel like writing something brilliant on the board trashing 1AA, put it in an email to the MSHSL instead. Maybe your infinite wisdom will overwhelm the MSHSL and they will hire you to align the sections next time

In all reality, get off these threads if you don't have anything intelligent to contribute. Better yet, just follow Lakeviewing around and help him with his spelling and grammar. You make a great pair!!!

Then why are you wasting your time, more importantly others time by posting your dim witted thoughts on a 1AA thread. Like I said before, meet up with your other "I wish I were good enough to have played on a varsity hockey team" buddies on your beloved 6AA/2AA threads and stroke each others egos.

Have to go with Souths top line (Fresh, Soph, Soph). Their the real deal to be putting up those kinds of points in the lake conference.

Agreed. I am really hoping they stick around through their senior year. They have some nice Bantams in the Lakeville area as well.

Cory Kautz F Century, Drew Anderson F Century and Jay Moran F Winona are all very good hockey players as well.

Brock Kautz G Century will be a goalie to keep an eye on for the future.

Kudos to Lakeville for fielding two High Schools and giving more kids the opportunity to compete at the varsity level. High School sports should be about giving opportunities to kids because thats who is participating...kids. The mega high schools have great teams but leave many on the sidelines that miss out on the opportunity to even earn a roster spot. Very sad to see some schools opt for championships over providing opportunites to the very students that they have the charge of educating and teaching life lessons/skills too. High School sports participation can teach many things and the more who can benefit the better. A combined Lakeville mega high would be more competitive but it would come at a cost, that cost would be at the expense of their communities student athlete's. Definate longshots, but what a story it would be if they achieve the unthinkable.

Good observation. You could also combine Jefferson and Edina, call them France Ave HS and get similar results.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with financial situation for these districts? I don't believe athletic championships are the reason a second high school is not built for districts with large high schools.

Not even suggesting that combining would be a good idea, just used it in an effort to compare numbers with the big west metro schools. Lakeville's decision to split was absolutely the right one. Twice the number of kids now get an opportunity to play varsity hockey.

I would say it had more to do with cornfields becoming neighborhoods than giving some 3rd and 4th liners a chance to play varsity vs. junior gold.
Other teams in the tourney with similar enrollments will be competitive this year and I don't suspect Lakeville will be one of them.

Gosh, I thought the split was only about hockey?......I remember when EP was cornfields too, they chose to not split and have the successful athletic pedigree that comes with that decision. Don't kid yourself and think that athletics didn't play at least a small part in that decision. Referendums can easily be effected by a motivated booster club. Their decision has worked for them and Lakevilles choice has also worked well..except of coarse in producing hockey teams that live up to the expectations of some on this forum. Obviously this is a hockey forum but a quick check in other sports will show that the Lakeville athletics are competeing quite well. By the way triple b, Jefferson is allready combined with Kennedy in hockey, its just not official.
