Forest Lake has had a decent season. 15-6-2 so far. 2 questionable losses. any ideas about how far they will go?

If they can get past Rapids, I think they have a shot at pulling the upset over Elk River. 1-5 in 7AA are all relatively close in talent. If they work harder than Rapids, Elk River and East (or Andover) They could find themselves representing 7AA at the X.

They have a nice team this year, but do they have what it takes? They will most likely play Rapids in the quarterfinals, which isn't a gimmie by any means. Gaffy played incredibly well against C-E-C and he could have a similar impact than that of Moberg last year, when they almost upset East in the semi's. They also have a few kids that can bury the puck. I don't know if they have the depth to win the section, but anything can happen in a single elimination format. I say they win the quarters, but won't get by Elk River, I wouldn't be surprised by an upset, but chances are they would have to play East in the finals, and I don't see an upset in that game.

Wouldn't that be cool? Good luck FL!

On the thread of "teams that can pull an upset", FLake was one team that I felt could, based exactly on the play of Gaffy in nets, and they have a couple good scorers.

I just feel that no team should take them lightly - even Andover, whwo kicked Flake's booty early in the year. Flake appears to be much more improved since that game. It almost seems that dreaded loss to East Ridge in their host tourney that turned the season around.

East found out last year that Forest Lake (with Moberg in nets) had to be taken very seriously. If any 7AA team takes the Rangers lightly this season, they could be in for a shocker.

First time I've ever said this, but I'm definitely rooting for the rangers in sections!

-As a broadcaster in the SEC, I am so proud of the Rangers this year. They have played so well, and lets all be honest, not many people outside of Forest Lake, and maybe Section 7AA saw this kind of season coming. It's nice to see teams like Forest Lake do so well, and it also give hope to teams like us here in Hastings, and teams like Mounds View and to an extent Park, that with hard work and dedication, they could do it too. Congrats to the Rangers, the Coaching Staff, and Fans. Live this up, and have fun in Sections, next week!

It would be great if Flake could make it to state, I really like this section. I hold a lot of respect for DE, ER, Andover, and now Flake. These teams always have positive comments made about them, and have good coaching staff. I'm a big fan of Mike Randolph! :D

I think FL should make it past Rapids, IMO FLake just has more talent.

The rest of sections lies solely in their hands, come to play, and ready to work!

Forest Lake- 6 Grand Rapids- 2

Well, Lee................. maybe our young lad is following Goldfishdude's lead here and recognizing that it's a lot easier to convert to a fan of East than ](*,) :-k [-o< =; :-# our hometown WBL club!!!

Trust me, Lee, I don't nearly receive the double takes at the rink like I used to, and as Body Shots can attest, I like to walk up and down Parent Row (all the dads standing at the top of the bleachers) and chit chat and get an earful of everything I stand for on this forum.

WBLHockeyFan8??? Welcome to the wonderful world of East Hockey. SNIIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.. Ahhhhhhhhh.. it's a beautiful scent.

And......... I have a growing admiration for this FLAKE team.... would love to see a section final match between these two. FLake will be losing 5 awfully key seniors, but I think there are 9 sophomores on varsity with Skoog having a nice season in nets, too. The immediate future looks awfully darn bright for FLake.

Hey now I'm not jumping ship just yet.

But if I'm gonna be a fan of another team, it had better be a northern, non conference, non 4AA team!
Ahhhh, feel that north shore breeze. 8)
