If you had a choice to be a hockey coach for a AA school or a A school, which one would you choose and why?

AA better teams, more respect.

class wouldn't matter as much as the schools themselves. Becker Big Lake is AA, Mahtomedi is A... which would you rather coach?

And the reasons why people coach. There is a different dynamic to coaching a top team than a bottom team.

opening up the A vs AA argument again  , not much to say here besides that both top AA and A schools with good feeder programs are desirable positions for a coach looking for a team, or wherever the real work is, is what it boils down to in the end

There is so much that goes into it, are you a teacher? Then the school district is probably a heck of a lot more important than the class of thhe hockey team. Being in a good school district regardless of class makes your life easier, being in a bad one can make life miserable.

If the town values athletics and extracurriculars your life is much easier than one that doesn't and charges kids huge sums of money to play.

If your administration backs you then your life is easier than one that comes at you with every parent complaint imaginable or worse lets the parents come at you directly.

There are very well run small town athletic departments and very poor run ones, same with big towns. I've been involved in both well run ones and poorly run ones and it makes a huge difference for everyone involved; players, coaches, parents, and the public at large.
