I think the 6 teams going to State this year will be:

Edina
Burnsville
Wayzata
Minnetonka
WBL
Centennial

The two dark horses to watchout for are:
Champlin Park
Lakeville

I agree butch is a great coach and always has a team there in the end.

Unless that list of teams is cities teams only. If so that is still a little questionable with Burnsville, Lakeville and Champin Park getting beat recently.

If that list is state wide I think you have to put Duluth in there for sure. Between getting their youngsters (the 5 sophomores) broken into JGA hockey and getting the casualty list cleared (when possible, I think 2 of them are not going to come back) from that first weekend in Canada they are going to be going strong when they hit the state tourney. WHen they played that first tourney in Tonka they still had at least 3 kids out and at least 1 more who was "skating wounded". They play a really rough and tumble game of hockey though which seems to hurt them with the refs in the cities, funny how that happens.

he must be talking about the cities because i think that combination of 8 teams is impossible. Doesn't duluth, moorhead, and some other team have there own regional where 2 teams get to go to state?

No disrespect for the Cocks. My list was teams who I think will be going to state from the Metro League.

I thought Duluth looked great. Watched the Shattuck and Burnsville games. Total domination of Burnsville...shots were listed as Burnsville 19 - Duluth 49. The Shattuck game could have gone either way.

Aside the three quick goals lakeville outplayed you guys. Second period was close and third period we killed you rough start vs u guys lost us the game otherwise close. I do agree u guys will be a out of city region team but I believe it would be a close game everytime we play

Dominated lakeville not accurate you scored 3 quick goals and after that we controles the game and outplayed you guys. Third period was in your end the whole time second period was even
game

Should be noted that Duluth played short-handed quite a bit in this game, and 3 of the 5 players from their top line sat out with 10 minute misconducts during the last 20 minutes when Lakeville came back. Not an excuse- Duluth created the situation, and you have to stay on the ice to compete. Perhaps future match-ups would be closer, but when it was 5 on 5 Duluth controlled the play in this particular game.

butch has alot of good players to choose from. with east, denfeld, hermentown all around that area. its pretty easy to coach a team with good players on the team.

Blueblood,

I keep telling everyone to watch out for Lakeville. Those boys can play some flat out good hockey and I see them throwing the monkey wrench into many a teams plans. They are my dark horse pick.

Bragen said that they played you guys pretty even up in your 2 - 2 tie. I'd like to hear your side.

blue blood i also would like to hear your opinion about the game as ones view may be one sided. I do know the shots were equal this time but how did you evaluate the game

tonka vs. lakeville

My report on last night's game:

Overall, very competitive game
Both goalies played extremely well
Shots were 25 apiece
Both teams scored on the power play
Tonka looked lethargic at times
Lakeville has improved
New Lakeville uniforms are hot, sick; etc. Although, some of the numbers are questionable (69?)
Season series stands at 1-1-1. Can't get much closer than that.

Lakeville could definetly make some noise at regions. They have a good club and could upset anyone on any given night...

!! News Flash on the JGA State Tourney !!

There's a new setup for state this year guys. Metro will have 7 teams going in this year instead of 6.

With only 3 outstate teams MN Hockey has decided that only 1 will qualify for State this year. (From what I've seen, Duluth should be the favorite there.)

The 7th spot will go to the winner of a game played by the top two seeded teams that are losers of the games for the M4, M5 and M6 seeds in the regional.
