Mahtomedi is playing well at the moment and tartan coming off a upsetting loss to South St Paul. Rivalry game, and both teams always play each other tough..who takes this one?
my prediction:
mahtomedi-3
tartan-1

Looks like Tartan went with the backup goalie Loibl. It it appears that may have only been his second game.. Where was Gierke?

Well seeing his previous games his numbers haven't really been outstanding..your goalie need to give you a chance to win the game, looks like tartan coaching staff wanted to try something else out. But it looks like wohlers had a hell of a game at the other end of the ice, being out shot and winning by 4, that's giving your team a chance to win

Mahtomedi was outshot and thanks to their goalie Wohlers they were still in it after 1. It could have easily have been 4-1 Tartan after 1.
The first period was all Tartan....after that, Mahtomedi took over and any chances Tartan had later in the game were snubbed by Wohlers along with Mahtomedi being pretty tough in tight around their net.
Tartans goalie on the other hand let in a short sider, a shot that was semi-fanned on by Marshall, and 2 rebounds that never should have been where they were and easly put home.

Tartan looked like they were gonna run away with this one in the first period. Then a couple of goals and Tartan folded up its tent. For a team that after last season was supposed to have returning goaltending and all sorts of third year senior talent this year, what has happened? No leadership is evident, obvious selfishness with the puck and with no apparent consequence for being selfish. Players out on the ice for long shifts then too gassed to get back up the ice, or they don't care too. This team has no discipline and appears that they don't care. They've given up far too many soft goals this year and they can't pass the puck or play their positions. They are all over the ice like a Squirt team. Sad to see, this was supposed to be that Bantam A team that was going to be so good. Sorry to say it but they don't seem interested. I don't understand it at all.
