I am going with the mighty bears 4 to 2

Let's hear what you guys have to say?

Bears aren't so "mighty" this season. Not sure how Park is.

Park - 1

WBL 6

Park 2

This will be the second "trap game" in a row for the Bears.

A year ago, WBL beat Park 8-1 and 9-2. Two years ago, Park upset WBL 4-3 in OT, then WBL came back and won 9-0, so the past 3 games, WBL has outscored Park 26-3. I am predicting 6-1 Bears.

Hockeyfan8, with your suggesting a 4-2 WBL win, is that a statement on how WBL is playing or Park is playing? Let's hear YOUR thoughts other than a score...

WBL better pound Park, or regrouping will really need to be done before facing CDH on Saturday.

Park is 2-7-1, with the most recent game being a 5-4 loss in OT to Tartan. Park did beat Woodbury in Game 2, and lost 3-2 to CDH, so the team shows it CAN be competitive. However, in the holiday tourney Park was in, they lost 4-2 to Cloquet, whereas WBL beat Cloquet 8-2 about 3 weeks ago.

Park's Brandyn Graff leads the Wolfpack with 11 goals and 15 points in 10 games. WBL's Brandon Wahlin leads the team with 6 goals and 18 pts in 11 games. Max Birkinbine leads the Bears with 8 goals.

Park has scored just 26 goals and given up 46 in its 10 games. WBL has scored 40 and given up 37 in 11 games.

Business as usual against Park. Jordan shines. Jansen tallies 2. CDH this weekend...dont get caught in the 'bear' trap.....shameless pun.

I think the style play by Park will frustrate WBL. I see a lot of penalty time for both teams.

I have heard Park is a scrappy team and tough to play. That said, this is a must win for the Bears if they are to contend in the conference. I will have to go with the Bears, but in a close one 4-3. They need this one as they head into the weekend in a contest with CDH and Mark Alt returning.

Youngy, you are spot on about the style of play. It's not a secret that to beat WBL, you have to play physical. WBL needs to have the philosophy you can't hit what you can't catch.

The problem will be WBL's. Park plays physical and will the whole game. From what I have seen from WBL they can be distracted easily and want to turn it into a slug fest. I still think WBL should win but they could put themselves in a bad spot if they try and be the tough guys.

As for the "Hit what you can't touch" statement Park has some speed so I dont think that will be the X factor. Park has to keep it 5on5, if they can get to the couple of players on WBL that like to retaliate it will definately help.

Your close there's a forward or two that like to swing the sticks. A few might be fishermen the way they like to hook things.

Breaking News:

I was informed today that the Bears skated their tooshies off at practice yesterday, with Coach Sager trying to send the message that games like vs East Ridge will not be tolerated.

It's idiotic to be told this, but it was suggested to me that, because of MY displeasure, whether Coach Sager directly reads mine/our comments (not always bad, folks) or is told what I say, that he is making the players pay for it. Not my job to motivate them!!!!

Ironically, I said I wasn't displeased with their EFFORT - just the results. Heck they had 38 shots.... In some form, maybe it was because on the defensive end, the Bears allowed 26 shots by East Ridge.

So, anticipate a more intense backcheck, and more aggressive forecheck, and the Bears, like in their heyday a few years ago in which teams barely crossed the blue line, will limit Park to around 15 shots on goal!

this is my statement at saying that the bears are going to take this one lightly like they did a few years ago and make it a close game when it shouldn't even be a contest.

i just have not been impressed at all with the defense, i think the underclassmen are being asked to step up a little too much too quickly. The seniors need to stop taking stupid penalties so much. The young kids need to get their feet wet on 5 on 5 and powerplays not peenalty kills!
