what to do with goalies?

I am just wondering what is the best strategy without a set goalie?
For instance east grand forks hasn't started the same keeper in consecutive games all year. I am just wondering whats the best thing to do.

It depends upon the goalies....

In my opinion, if you have two completely different goalies, one smaller and quick, versus a larger positional goalie, you have to play matchups.

I think when playing a team that you know has just outstanding team speed, and moves the puck well, you may want to go with the quicker east-west goalie... An east-west goalie vs slower, more physical teams may overplay situations, such as a 2 on 1, and end up getting caught out of position, because he reacted too quick.

The bigger positional goalie just is designed to hold his ground, keeps the puck square and rarely usues his hands.... all stick and chest..... However, he gets exposed with the quick teams as he can't move as well east-west..

If they are both the same, and play every other game, then, go with the hot hand...or go with the goalie who may have the mental edge versus an opponent....

Some schools will do this if they have two goalies at about the same level. I'd say most coaches start playing a goalie every game after holiday tournaments or at the latest a few games before sections. It just gives the coach lots of extra looks at both goalies and if one gets really hot he will stick with that one.

What to do with goalies?

Well, I would put them IN the goal, and then take slap shots at 'em. But that's just me...hee hee.
