Blaine is 0-2 against the Hornets in the last 3 years, losing 4-8 during the regular season last year and 1-6 at state in the consolation semi's three years ago. Edina is 6-0 in their last 6 games, including winning the Edina Classic; can they make it 7-0 and give Blaine a 2 game losing streak going into Schwan's Cup?

While Edina is still a very good team this year, they aren't what they were last year, I say Blaine takes it 4-2

I'm not so sure about that Gordon Bombay. I think Edina will put up a solid fight in this one. I'm going to say they pull off the upset 3-2.

This result doesn't surprise me much. Despite Edina losing a lot of talent from last year's team, they still look to be pretty strong again this season. Look for them to be close contenders for the final Classic Lake title this year.

Best single goal game I've ever seen. Edina played a solid, very disciplined style, and kept the forecheck coming hard all the time. Bjugstad never had the room or the time to make his teammates look good - you could tell he was really gassed at the end of the game. Both goalies played exceptionally well. They really made the game IMHO.
Duluth East vs Edina in Schwan's Gold - better buckle up Hounds, it'll be end to end hockey from the first drop of the puck. Should be a good game.

First off this was a pretty good game of hockey. Edina plays a game that has a ton of stick work...lots of hooking/slashing they broke two of Bjugstad's sticks, and a third was broken when he squeezed between two players...
I would say Bjugstad is a level above the players that were on the ice, one on one he was better then anyone...but blaine's D is going to hurt them bad this year with maybe two stand up D the rest are less then most top teams.
Edina will be a contender but I also see Blaine being a top team as well.
