They have enough A players for maybe one line, the rest? Some of those kids can barely get up and down the ice. It's going to be a LONG year for them, especially the JV.

But let's hope they have fun.

And they have the honor of being the FIRST for their high school.

Agreed, something they can be proud of someday when East Ridge is in the State Tournament in a few years they can say they were on the team the first season.

I wish them the best and no injuries especially.

Take a look at woodbury's JV. It's even worse.

Very well put E70.
They are the founding members. Kids, always be proud of what you are working on.

“We tend to forget that
happiness doesn’t come
as a result of getting
something we don’t
have, but rather of
recognizing and
appreciating what we
do have.”

Hope they have a life size banner placed in the rafters to signify the event for years to come.

I heard that all but a few of Woodbury's good JV team last year is playing for East Ridge this year, but that won't mean much this year. There's no seniors obviously. But in a season or two and the wait will probably pay off for East Ridge. They might end up being pretty good. In that same time span, I think we will see Woodbury slip far, far down in talent level. PowerForward25 hit it right on the head there. Beneath this glossy veneer of a senior- and talent-laden varsity team, Woodbury doesn't have much. Maybe it will cycle back and forth every few years as far as which schools get the talent. Does anybody know about Park's numbers as a result of the split?

I'm not sure I agree with you. In the scrimmage against the much hyped Apple Valley, from the amazing Lake Conference, yes.....they lost but it wasn't an easy win for AV. I think that they may surprise a few of you.

I agree with that. Yes they don't have that strong senior core that Woodbury has however they have ALOT of young talent. Most of the woodbury Bantam A team will play for east ridge. This year maybe ugly but they could eventually be a hockey power house.

aren't there 8 players on the A Bantam team that attend Hill? Spreading the Talent between 4 schools (Woodbury, East Ridge, Hill and Cretin) will make Woodbury the next Rochester.

East Ridge won 2scrimaages today......4-2 over Red Wing and 4-1 over Chaska-Chanhassen. They looked pretty good.

This was good!! Long year, coaches name is Long.......... very "punny"
The breakdown on the Bantam A team is;
East Ridge=8
Hill=5
Woodbury=4
(this is what I have been told, not sure which of these kids may be attending Cretin as stated earlier)
The fight for bragging rights begins Dec. 5th, East Ridge hosts Woodbury

There will be much pride on the line between those teams. I know pretty much all those kids and they are all great players. Good luck to all of them and my son and I will probably be at that game!

Can't wait to see Braedon Hyland (ER) vs. Walker Hyland (Woodbury) and Pat Herbert (ER) vs. Andrew Herbert (Woodbury). One of the unfortunate things about the split is that younger brothers couldn't follow the older ones but it's going to be fun to watch them play against one another.

Ironic that most of the East Ridge team would not have seen much ice on the Woodbury Varsity. New school, new opportuniites for some.

Yea that will be interesting. Wonder what those houses will be like when the kids come home from school before the game.
