So new season and same old quesiton who will or which multiple sites will provide the best information. Looked at the MGHSCA site and it doesn't look ready to go - nice but maybe more involved so if a coach didn't use in the past will they now?

Here is the Strib coverage of Tonka-Stillwater - wouldn't it be nice to be able to see this for all games - maybe collectively we can id the sites with best info as the year goes forward:

MGHCA.Com went from an adequate site to a horrible site. Would be a good site but is slow, confusing and lacks support from the coaches. Lots of double entries on the stats.

Both sites are incomplete. MGHCA is not as good as last year, at least at this point. maybe the coaches aren't all comfortable yet.

On the MGHCA an example of the sites not up to snuff, Morris Benson Area there stats are doubled. that kind of stuck out. 16 goals were scored but 32 Goals given for stats. there players look like there on fire!

On the Mnsports online lots of missing Data. most noteably some of the goalies info.

This boys site is nice.

http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/

I don't even know if it's considered the best/accurate/used boys site.

The Hopkins/Centen from yesterday game is on there, the forth Hopkins goal is a shorty by Cara Johnson. Its worth a watch one of the pretiest goals I've seen in awhile. Pretty cool to have a site like this for girls - they have some great live games coming up.

Is there any place to find the jv scores?

I think some team sites have them. I have never seen them consolidated in any one place.

Another site that is affiliated with minnesotasportsonline is:

http://www.minnesota-scores.net/scorebo ... &sport=110

They also include their "QRF" ranking system once enough scores are in to calculate something meaningful:

I don't know of a JV site although years ago there was one used by some JV teams at:

http://www.esportsdesk.com/leagues/sche ... edCID=1830

Scores thru 21Nov2009 via minnesota-scores.net (128 games)

***NOTE: This doesn't include games against non-MSHSL Varsity level programs and may also be missing some scores not entered yet on the minnesota-scores.net website. To enter missing scores (enter sport = girls hockey):

This is a great question; where is the best place to look for scores and stats? I think it's the MILLION dollar question.... :-k . I have been looking at all the various sites (along with a few that I didn't even know existed) and it would take a SMALL army to enter everything on each of these sites for one team..... As a parent, I actually volunteered to enter stats. I enter stats on MSHSL.ORG site but I can't imagine having to enter stats in 3 or 4 other locations.

It's too bad that all of the coaches can't get together to come to a common ground to find that "one perfect site" but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Hmmm, maybe this will happen when we discover there is water on the moon... Oh, that's right; we've already done that......

I vote Star Tribune/minnesotasportsonline.com/GameFace MN as #1.

http://preps.startribune.com/scoreboard ... &sport=110

http://preps.startribune.com/sporthome. ... &sport=110

Anyone like to suggest that one of the other sites is better, easier to use, more likely to be used by coaches?

Not sure what site is better for a coach to use I know the MGHCA is intended to be used by the coaches and changes should be easier. But I see wrong stats entered and seem to never get corrected.

MGHCA was to become the site that all other sites received info. from. Meaning that a coach could enter (or have someone enter) the info. on the MGHCA site once and then it would send this out to all the other media entities (newspaper, radio, tv, mshsl, conference, other web, etc.). I've been away from this for over a year now so I don't know what happened. Maybe the MGHCA isn't as easy to use or it's just not being used and maintained as initially intended?

In any case, the site that the Strib (Star Tribune) adopted is within a network of other score reporting sites that do a nice job. The Stribs main connection to this network contains the boxscores & other info. and as someone else mentioned here it does a great job. I hope that it continues and becomes a good archive for the history of the sport.

We've seen many sites come and go over the years; some adopted by the Strib others independent... Some of these come to mind...

VarsityOnline

SportsHuddle
MaxPreps
minnesotasportsonline.com/GameFace MN (include this entire network - minnesotascores.net, etc.

MSHSL

esportsdesk

conference websites, etc.

Seems that there may have been some others along the way as well...

I remember too when the Associated Press had a HS Sports entity that you would call and they would send the info. out to all the papers, TV, etc.

star tribunes site has incorrect data too, and if data is incorrect then it is useless. here are things I do like having access to, the last few years data and also I like Sort options. and a way to get incorrect data corrected. maybe ask the coaches what they want in a site and ask for 100% involvement by the coaches. this is not only a tool for the coaches to track data but also for colleges to use.

I bet most sites have incorrect data. Agreed on access to past few years, sort options, and tool for colleges. Coaches had input in MGHCA site but I don't know how you'd get 100% involvement.

I'd say that these are the three best score/stats sites in the following order based on what I've seen this season to-date:

#1)Game Face MSO/StarTribune.com/minnesotasportsonline.com(=minnesota-scores.net - part of the same network):
(boxscore included)
a) http://preps.startribune.com/scoreboard ... &sport=110
-or-
(boxscore included)
b) http://www.minnesotasportsonline.com/sc ... &sport=110
-or-
(scores only - no boxscore)
c) http://www.minnesota-scores.net/scorebo ... &sport=110

#2) MGHCA:
http://www.mghca.com/schedule/day/leagu ... ason=16135

#3) MSHSL:
http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/results.asp?actnum=460

and the MGHCA has no one to blame but other coaches for not updating that should be # 1 tool for them

This is true and from what I can see it's actually a site that could be great with the proper content/data entered.

It should also be noted that #1 a & b above post the LPH Ranking on their site each week and archive these as well. #1c has its own ranking, the QRF, which it updates weekly & archives too. See this link for details: http://www.ushsho.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21711

Yep, and essentially the Strib pulls from that site for its info. and I assume the Strib staff uses it to enter scores each night as they did MaxPreps and SportsHuddle in the past...
