Shattuck St. Marys 16
Rochester 0

Looked like Rochester had 11 skaters? (Sickness?)
And looking at their schedule it seems they have had 4 practices together?
Tryouts jsut finishing for most teams? Just wondering

Shattuck moved the puck all around them and was very, very skilled team overall

Shattuck is always ahead of the curve at this time of year. They have been working together and playing games since september. Don't get me wrong they are good this year but maybe not +16 good

Really? 90%? 90% of the metro? 90% of the state?

90% is a little high for 21 Oct outside of the metro.

That is part of the problem here.

The Wild have been playing since 9/15 the Gophers since 10/1. Most successful youth sports programs try and play and practice around the time the local professional teams are playing.

I am guessing most Minnesota Youth teams will finally kick off around 11/15. Sounds a little late to me.

Our Association has not started yet as most of the kids are still playing football which ends this Friday.
Hockey will start Saturday.
Small out state Association/School where you need 3 sport athletes to
compete and can't afford to have the Athletes specialize in one sport.

This is a problem? Minnesota Boys High School Hockey starts November 16th and the MSHSL tournament is 10-13 March. So what if the Wild started on Sept 15th? They are professional hockey players, they have nothing else to do. College hockey, also, at least 18 years old and have narrowed their sports down to hockey, what else are they going to do? Bantams are 13-15 years old and being STUDENT athletes and should also be exploring different sports and oppurtunities, why is starting in late October or early November such a problem?

What about NFL? Late July-January or early February.
What about NBA? September-June
What about MLB? April-Late Oct/early November

Youth and high school teams rarely play within the same span of time that pros or even college do, why should hockey?

The first NFL game of the year is usually the first week of September just like almost I would guesstimage greater then 90 percent of high school teams across the country. When does Pop Warner start? Usually the first week of August, coincidentally right about the same time the NFL rolls into camp. However the first game for most part is the first week of September just like the pro's.

Baseball is usually the same. Depending on the area of the country Mid March April timeframe for start date just like the Majors. It is just your high school teams don't play almost 180 games if they are successful or for revenue. I would add Babe Ruth starts the same time as Major League baseball in areas where the kids are too young to play HS sports.

To compare major league revenue teams to your local high school is just wrong. Pro basketball and Hockey are trying to maximize the season to compete with the other sports teams and to generate revenue in order to stay in business.

So if football or baseball kicked off two months after their respective pro seasons I am sure there would be a furor too.

Use this thread to post 2009 - 2010 Bantam A scores.

This thread is not about professional baseball, footbal or basketball.

Bantam hockey scores! Not the date in which Lebron reports to training camp.

White Bear has a great coach he will work it out for the team. He will do the right thing, whether it be call up some players from the B team or run some extension cords to the portable heaters. He will see that his large roster remains warm on the bench.
