does Mike Lee have a shot? I heard a goalie is ineligible so Mike would move up to back-up, but does he have a shot to start this season?

Jase Weslosky was inelgible so he transfered to Bemidji State, Dan Dunn should be the backup to Mike Lee but they will split time early is what im guessing

Lee is a solid goaltender and has a pretty remarkable pedigree--winning 42 straight high school games, playing USHL when he should be in High School and winning goaltender of the year, being the first american born goaltender chosen in the draft. That being said, he will get a baptism by far, but starting...Maybe, but not to begin with. I don't see him getting the reins from day 1, just too much to ask from a 18 year old true freshman.

Dan Dunn is nothing special.. i go to St. Cloud and everytime i've watched him he's had about the same talent level as Jeff Frazee. The only reason he stops as many pucks as he does is because he's like 6'5 or something. I bet Lee will be the starter this year.

because he is as smart as a door knob....it's still amazing they were able to keep goeppfert eligible a few years back..they were running out of phy-ed classed for him to take...motzko won't know what to do with a smart goalie like Lee and not having to worry about him constantly

That's really saying something if he has the same talent level as an AHL all-star.

Ok let me rephrase that. He has the same talent level as Frazee when Frazee was in college. We all know that he wasn't the greatest college goaltender to play for the Goph's (he's obviously improved since leaving)... All i'm trying to say is that Lee will start 80%+ of the Husky's games this year.

As of right now and after the Lethbridge game it is my understanding that it is all up to Dan Dunn to lose the spot. He will get the first shot and then be backed up by Mike Lee. Dan Dunn has done alot this summer with technique and his psychological approach to the game. All SCSU needs is someone to keep them in the game and pull out a bunch of wins.

Mike Lee

I was on the Gopher Sports website, and I saw in an article talking about the 2009/10 WCHA season, and it indicated that Mike Lee was voted by the coaches as the preseason Rookie of the Year...

My hunch is that he will be your SCSU goalie this year...

I think Lee will be the #1 guy. However, Dunn may have a different feeling. in the first game against UMD, Lee let a couple soft goals in. They started Dunn tonight and he was outstanding. 30 saves and voted #1 star of the game.

He played very strong agaist Miami in their first game too.

I don't believe he played strong against Miami. He bit on the first deek and was down and out of position many times. That's what the goals looked like. It was scary on Sat. against the Bulldogs, but the job was done. I think that the job is definelty not salidified, but Dunn will play till he loses.

Looks Like Dunn saved the day against Tech.

Year to date:

30 Mike Lee (PHO) 5 games: (save %) .924 (GAA) 2.15
41 Dan Dunn (WSH) 3 games: (save %) .924 (GAA) 1.98

I like how Dunn is not giving up and making it difficult on the coaching staff.
