Who does the ranking and how do they come up with their choices? For example: Forest Lake beat Anoka 2x, beat Woodbury in Regions...They may not be a top 20 team, but what about Bloomington Jefferson and they are not listed (they beat cent in the VFW tournament I watched and lost to Bemidji in the VFW state)? These are just 2 examples. Is this just an opinion poll ranking system?

They also look at WHO the teams Lost to. Review the teams in question and see who they lost to, and compare that to overall state rankings.

Rankings are just an opinion, a win or two against a higher ranked team does not automatically make a team move up in the standings. over all schedule difficulty is also considered.

Not sure...but I think that in our case (Woodbury Team) VFW does not matter for LPH Rankings. (Even though the games and teams are the same/just a different league.)

Just a guess...I could be wrong...

because final rankings from LPH came out before the VFW tourney ended.

I agree. If you look at the rankings, you'll see that Jefferson beat a lot of so called top 20 teams. Examples:
Eden Prarie, Edina, tied Minnetonka twice, Burnsville, Woodbury, Rogers, Centennial, Lakeville south, and lost to apple valley in a 12 man shootout. sounds like a pretty darn good team to me.

MNHockeyRankings.com provides another view of the rankings. It's 100% math-based, using game results to compute rankings. http://mnhockeyrankings.com/ Jefferson is #16 in those rankings. While not subjective, even math based rankings have their limitations. Enjoy them for what they are...
