Proposal for next year

What would youth girls parents think about taking the weekend off of practice and games for the Girls HS State Tournament. I noticed this year we had very few youth players at the tournament, It was the first weekend of the playoffs so most teams were busy. I think every young player will benefit from seeing the game on the big stage and at its highest Minnesota level.

Excellent idea!
I'll second that and add:

A push should be made as well for MORE television coverage of the Girls hockey tournament. Particularly for fans of non participating teams who cannot afford the travel expenses of actually going down there. Or in cases where family members of participating teams are in other states, Grand Parents and Great Grand Parents that can't travel, at a minimum have all the games streamed to the internet for viewing.

I could set Granny up with a laptop! Yeah Baby!

No. Finish the season.

May work for some metro girls, but out-state few will attend unless their town is there.

This past season, the entire Girls Hockey Tournament was on MSBN. www.mnsportsnetwork.com No video, but you did have audio coverage. Better than nothing.

It would be nice to see more coverage of the tournament. Should it still be played at the X where the intensity of the crowd dies in the empty seats? or, would it be more exciting, fun and entertaining for all if it was played at Ridder arena?

Ridder would be a great place to have it!

We went to both the boys and girls semi finals and championship games this year. At boys we saw youth players from all over the state, many were out state that did not have a team in the tourney. Why do you think the out-state families of girls youth players will not attend a girls tourney when they show up for boys?
