WCHA First Round - (6) St. Cloud State @ (5) Minnesota

The Gophers (15-12-7) and Huskies (18-15-3) will renew their rivalry this weekend at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis. The Gophers have owned St. Cloud this year, winning all four meetings between these teams thus far. However, the Gophers could be in trouble if they can't find a way to keep the puck out of their net. St. Cloud State can score in bunches, and the Gophers have given up 3 or more goals in 11 games since January 3. It should be a great weekend in Minneapolis.

Who wins, and why?

I'll pick Minnesota in three.

This should be the best series of the weekend. I predict all games going into OT. Gophs win it in three. They need either Kangas of Patterson to be strong in net and get better on the powerplay.

The Gophs take this series.
They will find a way to make a decent run.
Go Gophers. :)

Even though they swept both series' during the year, this one could go either way.

FRI -
Huskies 4, Gophers 1

SAT -
Gophers 6, Huskies 3

SUN -
Gophers 3, Huskies 2, 2 OT

In my opinion the Gophs need to win this one tonight. I dont like their chances if this series has to go 3 games.
