Now that the tournament is jsut about set, how will the seeds end up. I think it will end up like this.

1. Little Falls
2. SCC
3. Breck
4. Warroad

Yep, that's about right.

With STA out of the X this year (thank you Mahtomedi!!), this will be a very interesting A tourney.

But, I would rank Warroad #2 in the seeding given their near-perfect season (only two losses). Here's my guess, but I am somewhat ignorant:

Hopefully Small Falls gets Mahtomedi

I think Warroad is a nice choice but one of the 2 losses came to a team in the field. The #2 goes to Cathedral.

Mahtomedi beat Breck, STA and SSP. They have had a couple questionable losses, but they have a very good all around schedule and have wins others don't have. Not sure where I'd put them, but they are definitely a top team and if they don't get seeded I wouldn't want to be the team matched up with them.

My top 4:
1. Little Falls
2. Cathedral
3. Warroad
4. Mahtomedi/Breck toss up

The numbers 1 to 4 mean nothing except what time you play.

Little Falls, Breck, Warroad, St Cloud Cathedral and Mahtomedi all have a shot at it.

Virginia and Lourdes may sneak in if the coahces try to position themselves.

3A - nope.

But my guess is Little Falls (undefeated), Warroad (only 2 losses, tradition), St Cloud Cathedral (another good record), and Mahtomedi (good wins and beat teh defending champs).

That leaves Breck out of the mix, but so what.
There are 7 good teams. Being one of the four gets you a shot at an easier quarterfinal. But who wants Breck, Lourdes, or Virginia in their first game.

It should be a great tournament.

I know there are only 4 teams seeded, but let me rank the top 8 in my opinion, and then the top 4 the way they should be seeded.

1) Warroad
2) St. Cloud Cathedral
3) Little Falls
4) Breck
5) Mahtomedi
6) Rochester Lourdes
7) Virginia

Yeah but those head to head meetings, records, etc all influence how a caoch will vote. I would imagine that the SCC would vote Little Falls ahead of Warroad cause Little beat SCC and SCC beat Warroad

I don't think that will be possible since both teams should get seeded. I owuld like to see them play sometime in the tournament. Then after taht play Little Falls so Sylvester could play his old team

But what should it be?
Everything is subjective.
Virginia lost by 1 to Little Falls, so if Little Falls is #1, you cna justify Virginia at #2.
Breck has a good record and played some tough teams earlier on, maybe they are #1.
Warroad has history and two losses to quality teams onthe road. #1?
You can use just about anything to justify it.

As an example, as the coach of a top team, I have played some of these teams, I have played teams that have played all these teams. We had kids out for this game, our goalie played poorly in this game, the D looked weak for this team when I saw them play in December.

You beat me, they beat you, I beat them, you think they are going to do that?

If I am a coach I look at Little Falls and say, undefeated but not a tough game every Tuesday and Thursday, but the first line and Hanowski, but they just got by Alex and we are 3 goals better than Alex... hmm, maybe they are #2 and they beat SCC so SCC is 3. Mahtomedi beat #STA so maybe, but they had some bad games, so I am going with Breck as #1 and then Virginia at #4 because the northern teams have tough games all the time and tehy are a pretty balacned team.

There is no perfect system, because teams change over the season for a variety of reasons.

Personally, right now, I think Warroad is the best A team and Mahtomedi is right behind them. I would not want to play Virginia in the first round because they are playing very well right now.

But Breck, SCC, and Little Falls are great teams. And then you have Lourdes.

So what differecne does it make.

Go win 3 games then we know.
