CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—A carbon monoxide scare has put the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament on hold at the moment with hockey players, coaches and fans at risk. Reports of a carbon monoxide leak surfaced during the 4:30 p.m. opening round game between Robert Morris University and Liberty on rink one. Players and coaches complained of carbon monoxide symptoms.

TheUniversity of Illinoisteamwas allowed to playits opening round game against Central Oklahoma on rink two but not before firefighters began circling the rink with carbon monoxide detectors. Fans were immediately escorted from the building and players were to leave once they changed from their uniforms.

The arena was cleared for approximately an hour for firefighters to secure the building. The 7:30 p.m. opening round game between Oklahoma and Kent State was canceled while the 8:30 p.m. game between Lindenwood and Penn State made it through one period before being canceled.

Players from both the Lions and the Berks were reportedly taken to the hospital for examinations. Illini players reported that members of Ohio University also paid a visit to the hospital to be checked out.

With the cancellations taking place, the Oklahoma versus Kent State game is rescheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Sunday while Lindenwood and the Penn State Berks will finish their game at 5:30 p.m on Sunday. The Illini will play their quarterfinal game between the winner of Oklahoma and Kent State on Monday.

No, there WAS carbon monoxide poisoning at this tourney. They brought a bunch of space heaters into the locker rooms. It was a fiasco. Some kids had to go to the hopital and a few of the games were re-scheduled

yeah that's what i heard! and i heard the skaters effected got so tired and sick they could barely make it to the puck! scary stuff!

This is the club hockey tourney for college teams.
Some of the teams are very good and a nice option for kids that want to play hockey at the college level with less pressure than D1, D3.

Robert Morris is near Pittsburgh I blelieve and they also have a D1 college team.

interesting but kinda took a left turn from the original PWB 1 tourney in Morris. How did this turn out?

i know that 3 teams tied for first including: prairie centre and blaine, not sure on the 3rd team and they had to go by goals against!

i had to play it was really tough i could only take 10 to 20 second shifts it sucked and it felt like stuff was clogging my throat my friends were puking to
