What is the highest scoring game you've seen in a section or state game? Or even a regular season game?

The highest scoring state game was the 1984 Consolation Championship with Roseau beating Burnsville 9-8.

Why would you run up the score to 27 goals?

Whenever it was, it did end up 27-0 and not 15-1 as indicated.

Mournville was probably running his top powerplay out there in the 3rd period. Moorhead has no class. Let your 4th line play when youre already in double digits.

They actually played most of the game shorthanded. After one of the Moorhead players got a hat-trick, a girl threw her bra onto the ice and Mourinville asked the refs to give them a penalty....The ref asked "what for?", and Mourinville said "I don't know, delay of game?"

You're looking at the wrong year. Here are a few links where you can find the score and date. The Moorhead K-12 site could be confusing, since it only mentions the year when the season started (2003) not both years (2003-04)

Because the opposing offense was known to score in bunches.

I think the penalty was for "unhooking".

I agree. This is wrong on so many levels.
Here's to hoping that they return the favor.
Maybe this is why they'll never win the big one?

I love how you guys open your mouth with out even knowing any thing about the game. Moorhead did plenty to not run up the score. Goals came from 4th line guys shorthanded. Two guys on the forth line had hattricks. They implemented a 5 pass rule in the first peroid. If I remember correctly the game was atleast 13 nothing after the first. Could have been a lot worse. Rember this is still playoff and you can not just let the guys have a day off. First lines got their reps in and then didnt play much the rest of the game.

A- so what if they run up the score? if they want to go for it
B- dont defend them saying they weren't trying to run up the score. its quite apparent they were. Its not that hard not to score

As the Hawks say, "It's not worth winning if ya can't win big!"

This sort of discussion happens all the time. I don't like the concept of running up a score anymore than any other person, but I also cannot come up with a realistic alternative.
